Fantastic, absolutely mind blowing show. Can't wait to see them again. Torpor was amazing and performed a brilliant set. Torpor and Amenra both was at their merchant tables selling, so friendly to the fans to, and I got my ticket signed :D

Amenra @ Vulkan Arena, Oslo was just PERFECT. Best show of the year. Saw them also in 2013 at Roadburn and I have been looking forward to this show since I bought the ticket in June. And they exceeded all my expectations. Sound was great. Performance was outstanding. As usual Colin was singing with the back to the audience most of the time. At the end he took of his t-shirt and displayed the tatoo on his back. And the support band Tombstones was heavy as usual, this time with a new drummer.

Amenra announce European acoustic tour

AMENRA  have announced a European acoustic tour!

Set to take place in September/October this year, the tour will see the Belgian post-metal band touring across mainland Europe in an acoustic run supporting their latest album,  De Doorn , which was released last month. In addition, the band have announced the rescheduled amplified run, with  JO QUAIL  in support, to April next year.

Speaking about the acoustic run and the rescheduled headlining run, the band says, “we thought we could outrun the pandemic, but we are sad to say that the Sept/October 2021 EU tour will get postponed to April 2022. The ticket you currently hold will automatically be transferred to this new date (or you have the option to apply for a refund). Unfortunately for now our good friends ENVY can not make the rescheduled dates.

That being said we also have good news. We are extremely eager to get back out there again, and have some good news too. It simply has been too long and we want to take the opportunity to still visit all of you in September/October 2021, be it in our acoustic form, following restrictions where necessary. There will be replacement acoustic shows scheduled for your city / region for Sept/Oct 2021. Let us come together again. For all dates tickets will go on sale from Thursday July 15th. I would like to thank all ticket holders, promotors and our booker at NMC live for the tremendously hard work and patience. Until we meet again. Heb goede moed.  CHVE / AMENRA .”

Upcoming shows

So let’s look at the beginning of it all. Why do Amenra exist in 2022? Where does ‘De Doorn’ come from, and why has it taken this shape? As Colin and the rest of the band have often explained in the past, all the Masses were born out of an accumulation of hardships in their own private lives. But now, there wasn’t anything spectacularly distressing going on. “It didn’t feel like a mass,” Colin says. “It’s a whole different thing. There’s a lot more storytelling, a lot more clean, acoustic parts, Caro is a big part of it too. Despite the Masses, we are not really a concept album kind of band. We just write and we never really know where it will end up. In this case, a lot of the music was written during the last two three years, most of it was written in function of the fire rituals we did in our country.”

Many artists now refer to their live shows as “rituals”, of course, often with little reason other than to increment some imaginary cult score, but in the case of the two performances Colin is referring to, that is exactly what they were. “They were beautiful moments,” he recalls. “The one we did in Ghent was a real ritual.” He is referring to a performance made in conjunction with Vooruit, the big art centre in the city. Partnering up with a Belgian-based Indonesian sculptor called Toni Kanwa Adikusumah, who created a sculpture made of one tree that was on display in the art centre for a couple of weeks. In the piece, holes through which the people of the city were encouraged to drop piece of paper inside, their unacknowledged losses written on them. Their deepest sorrows, things that kept them heavy-hearted, that they wanted to get rid of. The sculpture was then moved to the city park. “That’s where we did our performance, set up around the sculpture,” Colin remembers. “It was free, and we had around 2.000 people watching. We wrote music to accompany that ritual, and we set the statue on fire together. It was all of us talking to the fire, addressing the fire and asking it to get rid of those things that people wanted to go away.”

The second ritual also involved a sculpture, in this case a six meter piece made by Johan Tahon in honour of the band’s 20 years of existence. “It occurred in Menen,” Colin says. “That was the last big fire ritual. We built a big wooden structure around the statue, covering it, and we set the structure alight so the statue would arise from the flames. It’s a brown bronze statue, but during the event it was so hot in the centre of the fire that it made the statue glowing red. It was a very intense moment.”

The music created for these events was then worked on and better fleshed out, so that intensity and that connection to these rituals carried on to what became the album – that, and also the connection to the land itself on which the rituals took place. “I had some words, which I had started to write in Dutch/Flemish, because the events were set to take place in Belgium and the witnesses would be mainly Flemish-speaking,” Colin explains. “We’ve also had some Flemish covers on the acoustic shows in the last few years, and I think all of this helped me to develop a certain affinity for my own language. I know English is the most accepted language in music, when you’re younger everything that’s not English sounds ridiculous to you, but with age I started appreciating my mother language more, and to get the feeling of how better you are when it comes to writing. You can go much deeper, you can be much more poetic; have multiple meanings, layered messages to read between the lines…” Hence, all the words that you will hear on De Doorn are in Flemish. Translations will be provided, of course, but even for non-Flemish/Dutch speakers, the added weight and meaning is immediately noticeable, to the point that some feelings can even carry through non-verbally. “There is a kind of archaic language that remains intact, some poetic language that speaks to you from… above is a big word, but I don’t know. Something universal. The voice in your head, telling you about life, and about what’s happening around you.” More importantly, this is Amenra. This is part of why they exist. “Through the years I’ve always had an interest in working with different languages, there was some German and some French in there. Belgium is a small country and we have three languages, I think that’s a part of our system. As I wrote, I started to realise that this is us. It cannot be more Amenra than singing in Flemish. It cannot be closer to us, it sets us apart from everyone else.”

Above all else, De Doorn is the album that most reveals the true face of Amenra. Their most genuine expression. It’s as if time, age and maturity has brought them, slowly, from the absolute pitch-black darkness of their beginnings into the light, made them realise the purest reflection of our humanity lies not just in the pain but in the edges that separate light and dark. Colin, kneeling, his back to the audience, screaming in darkness, voice muffled by loud guitars, might just begin to – literally or metaphorically, we will see – finally rise and turn towards his people, receiving their words just like that tree sculpture received Ghent’s people’s words, and echoing them, more clearly, more thoughtfully, speaking from the darkness into the light. That is why Amenra exist, and are so essential, right now. The pain is still there – it’s just not alone anymore. ”Even in the mellow parts, the words are so…” Colin struggles for a description. “They hit you hard with their content. It’s not necessarily negative, but there is a lot of weight involved. Content wise, I believe this is the heaviest album we’ve done. It’s hard as nails in its own beautiful, poetic way.”

+ doodseskader, amenra back in ab.

Unstoppable, straight ahead. Amenra is unstoppable. Ever more powerful, captivating and intense, they guarantee one sold-out concert after another with performances that take your breath away. The Kortrijkzanen proved this once again last summer with a series of high-profile performances at festivals such as Primavera and Hellfest, but even more so with their intense performance on The Barn stage at Rock Werchter. The band around charismatic frontman Colin H. van Eeckhout announce a new show with Doodseskader as a support act. Be prepared!  For years, the power of their post-doom metal has brought Amenra to the world's biggest stages to meet the followers of the Church Of Ra. Known for the intensity of their live performances, the band always takes their audience on a musical journey where Colin and his followers exorcise their demons. About pain and suffering, but also about the right to fathom the truth. Each album is the integration and processing of a trauma. The series of albums "Mass", followed by "The Thorn" in 2021, are steeped in themes of grief and mourning. Amenra's rituals have long been known, appealing to an ever-growing audience with each tour, from St Petersburg to Rio de Janeiro. Amenra live is a musical headbang, after which you are left orphaned, yearning for more.a

Breaking news, hanson announces 2024 tour with phantom planet. get tickets today.

Thanks for contacting us. We've received your submission.

Isaac (L), Zac and Taylor Hanson sing together in concert.

Hanson isn’t above a clever gimmick.

The ’90s trio behind the unforgettable cultural sensation “Mmmbop” just announced that they’re taking off on their ‘Underneath Experience Tour’ this fall. They’ll play their 2004 album “Underneath” in its entirety two nights in a row at venues all over North America on the run.

That’s not all, though.

Each night will be wholly different ‘Underneath Experience’ experiences.

On night one, Taylor, Isaac and Zac will perform an acoustic version of the 13-song record along with special guest Matthew Sweet. To sweeten the deal, all “night one” shows will be followed by an afterparty DJ’d by Taylor.

After that, they’ll return to the same venue the following night for an electric set accompanied by Phantom Planet.

And, yes, they’ll bring their unconventional tour to New York City.

Their first night (aka the acoustic set) goes down at Palladium Times Square on Wednesday, Oct. 16 . The brothers will fire up the amps for their electric night two on Thursday, Oct. 17 .

Can’t wait?

Fans can purchase tickets for all upcoming shows on sites like Vivid Seats; the official on-sale is Friday, June 14.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

Hanson tour schedule 2024

A complete calendar including all tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

“Underneath”

The 13-track 2004 record is a departure from the boy band’s well-documented bubblegum pop sound.

Over 54 minutes, they lean into hard-charging yet harmonious rock, jangly indie pop, soaring ballads and radio friendly jams about misery all while wearing their earnest hearts on their sleeves.

Undeniable highlights include the infectious opening track “Strong Enough To Break,” shiny, Hall and Oates-esque “Lost Without Each Other” and energetic “Get Up & Go.”

Don’t skip the horn-heavy “Crazy Beautiful” either. While Hanson clearly tried to escape the “Mmmbop” sound, you can hear a bit of the undeniably catchy hit in there.

To hear the record in full, you can find “Underneath” here .

Hanson special guests

Planning on basing whether you attend night one or two on the special guest?

If that’s the case, you can hear each act’s most streamed song on Spotify below to help inform your choice.

Matthew Sweet: “Girlfriend”

Phantom Planet: “California”

Huge stars on tour in 2024

Love Hanson but can’t find other bands with similar sounds?

Here are just five on tour this year that might do the trick.

•  Justin Timberlake

•  Joey Fatone

• New Kids On The Block

•  Jonas Brothers

• Goo Goo Dolls

Taylor Swift: Which Eras Tour Songs Didn’t Make Concert Film & Which Surprise Songs Got In

Every show on the Eras Tour involves an acoustic set where Swift performs at least two songs custom to that night’s show. At first, she wouldn’t allow herself repeats unless she messed up the lyrics to a song, but now, she has done away with that rule and gotten more creative by combining songs in mashups and playing up to four in a segment. The first song or three take place on guitar, and then she shifts to piano for the second half before diving beneath the stage to resume the setlist – which has since contracted and expanded to include a  Tortured Poets Department  era and set .

Below you’ll find Taylor Swift’s surprise songs that she has played most recently in Europe as well as a record of all those she has played on the entire tour so far.

Taylor Swift mashes up 'Crazier' from 'Hannah Montana' with this 'Lover' song in Scotland

amenra acoustic tour

For the first time on the Eras Tour , Taylor Swift played her surprise acoustic set for three nights in the Scotland sun's afterglow.

The late sunsets and stadium's open roof allowed the singer to perform at twilight.

"This is a song I've never sang live on the acoustic set," she said on the final night in Edinburgh before strumming "It's Nice to Have a Friend" from "Lover" on her guitar and incorporating "Dorothea" from "Evermore."

"Because it's the Eras Tour, I'm trying to take us back throughout the albums so I'm trying to hit as many of them as I possibly can," Swift said as she sat down at the piano to perform "Haunted" from "Speak Now (Taylor's Version)."

Swift then interweaved "Exile" from "Folklore" before diving into the stage.

Taylor Swift plays 'Hannah Montana' throwback 'Crazier'

On night two during "The Tortured Poets Department" set, the singer wore black gloves. While fans debated on livestream chats if it was an Easter egg or intentional, the arena held at a chilly 51 degrees. The gloves came off during Swift's costume change after "I Can Do It With a Broken Heart" and before the acoustic set.

In her bright orange dress, Swift mashed up "The Bolter" from "The Tortured Poets Department" with "Getaway Car" from "Reputation" on the guitar.

On the piano, she mashed up "All of the Girls You Loved Before" from "Lover" with "Crazier" from "Hannah Montana: The Movie - Soundtrack."

"You might not know this song," Swift said before diving into her 2009 song, to which the crowd sang along.

Taylor Swift pauses acoustic set in Scotland to check on fan

"I can do this all night" is not the name of one of Swift's vault songs or new "Tortured Poets" tracks , but the Eras Tour star did say this when she paused her acoustic set on night one in Scotland to make sure a fan was OK.

When workers got to the Swiftie, the singer finished her mashup of "Would've, Could've, Should've" from "Midnights" with "I Know Places" from "1989 (Taylor's Version)."

On the piano, Swift mixed "'Tis The Damn Season" from "Evermore," cut from the setlist in May, with "Daylight" from "Lover."
