In fact, you won’t be able to see everything in Miami in a day, (for those wondering if one day is enough in Miami), but if this is the only time you have, it’s still worth exploring.

To help you make the most of your time in the Magic City, we’ve put together this detailed Miami one day itinerary, covering everything from morning strolls on South Beach to a memorable dinner with a view.

Yes, you’ll miss out on something like museums and state parks but you’ll still get a glimpse of the city’s main landmarks.

Here is a snapshot to help you plan your trip to Miami, Florida!

How to get around:  The best way to get around Miami and see everything in the city and the nearby places is by driving a car. If you don’t have your own vehicle, you can  rent one via Discover Cars .

Must-do tours and experiences:  Some of the must-do tours and activities while in Miami include;  This Food walking tour of Little Havana  (5/5) to discover this Cuban neighborhood while tasting various foods,  this Speedboat Sightseeing Tour of Miami  (4.5/5) to take in the beauty of Miami’s skyline and other landmarks along the way,  this day trip to Everglades National park  (4.5/5), this Wynwood Street Art Tour  (5/5), to admire the vibrant street art, and this Private Helicopter Tour of Miami (5/5) to get a bird’s eye view of the city’s landmarks.

Where to stay: If you want to stay in downtown Miami, you can look past The Elser Hotel Miami  (9.3/10). It has luxurious amenities and a stunning view of the city. If you’re more on a budget, you can’t go wrong with Nuvo Suites Hotel – Miami / Doral (8.2/10), and for mid-range travelers, Hampton Inn & Suites Miami Wynwood Design District, FL (8.5/10) will meet your needs. If you prefer renting a full apartment, we recommend Mint House Miami – Downtown (8.8/10).

What to pack:  Don’t leave sunscreen ( take this one that is eco-friendly  with SPF50),  this sand-proof beach mat ,  this wide-brim beach hat , a swimsuit, a  beach coverup , and more.

You can also  purchase this Miami city pass  and get access to over 25 other attractions and save some bucks.

How We Created This Miami in One Day Itinerary

Morning in Miami Beach

Fair warning! While creating this Miami one day itinerary, we made several assumptions.

We assumed that you’re already in Miami and have a full day from Morning to evening. We also assumed that you’re willing to see as much as possible, so you won’t mind filling up your day!

But nothing is set in stone! If something doesn’t resonate with you or you prefer taking it slow, you can always modify your itinerary. This breakdown is just to show you how you can see Miami in a day.

We’ve also added a breakdown of the time depending on our experiences and how much time we believe is enough for each place.

And at the end of this detailed Miami 1 day itinerary, we’ve included a summary that we think will help you!

Now that you know how we created this one day in Miami itinerary, let’s show you exactly how to spend it!

Where to Stay in Miami for One Day

Shepley South Beach Hotel - Miami

If you’re only in Miami for a day, we heavily recommend staying in South Beach ! You’ll be close to everything we talk about in this itinerary, since wasting time in commute is not an option for such a limited amount of time! This one day in Miami itinerary also starts and ends in South Beach, so in our opinion, it’s the perfect base!

The other alternative is Downton Miami if for some reason you don’t feel like staying in South Beach! If you opt for downtown, we recommend staying at  The Elser Hotel Miami . It offers a luxurious stay with stunning views of the city.

Best Hotels in South Beach To Choose From

Hotel Ocean (Budget Hotel): This hotel is located right on Ocean Drive putting you close to everything you might need! It’s also a few minutes walk to the beach and the rooms are large, with modern appliances. You can’t go wrong with this hotel if you’re on a budget!

How to Spend One Day In Miami

Read on to see our detailed guide on how to spend 24 hours in Miami!

8:00 AM: Start Your Day at South Beach

South Pointe Park is one of the best kid friendly beaches in Miami.

We kick off our one day in Miami itinerary with South Beach ! Though it’s quite popular with both locals and tourists, at this time of the day, you’ll almost have the place to yourself except for a few joggers.

You may not be able to swim or participate in water sports at this time but walking on the white sand stretch and taking in a beautiful sunrise (depending on the time of the year you visit) is equally rewarding, especially since you won’t have to deal with the usual crowds.

Depending on where you stayed the previous night, you can explore popular beaches like Collins Park Beach on the quieter northern end of South Beach, South Pointe Park Beach for stunning views of the ocean, and the Miami skyline, and to watch cruise ships depart from the Port of Miami, or Lummus Park Beach famous its wide expanse of white sand and clear blue waters, as well as its iconic lifeguard towers that are often featured in movies and TV shows.

Once you’ve worked up an appetite, explore the bustling Ocean Drive , which is the most famous street in Miami .

It is home to the famous colorful Art Deco buildings which have become an iconic part of Miami Beach’s aesthetic. Don’t be afraid to take some photos here since it’s one of the most Instagrammable places in Miami .

Ocean Drive is also lined with a variety of cafes and food trucks that cater to every taste making it the perfect place to grab breakfast before heading to your next stop!

10:00 AM: Explore the Art Deco Historic District

Art Deco Historic District is one of the best places to visit in one day in Miami.

After enjoying your time at South Beach and Ocean Drive, head over to the Art Deco Historic District which is just a short walk away.

This architectural gem is home to a collection of over 800 beautifully preserved, colorful Art Deco buildings from the 1920s and ’30s.

Stroll through the district and you’ll be transported back in time, admiring the distinct geometric patterns, pastel hues, and neon signs that define this iconic Miami style.

You can stop by some of the most iconic buildings, such as the Colony Theatre , the Cardozo Hotel , the Carlyle Hotel , the Versace Mansion (the former home of the late Italian designer Gianni Versace), The Tides South Beach , The Colony Hotel , and more

11:30 AM: Check Out The Española Way

Española Way is one of the places to visit in Miami in a day.

If you still have more time, we recommend exploring Española Way , a charming pedestrian street located just a few blocks from the Art Deco Historic District.

This tree-lined avenue is reminiscent of a Mediterranean village with colorful buildings that reflect the influence of Spanish giving it a unique and romantic ambiance.

It’s a great spot to take a leisurely stroll, shop at boutiques and art galleries, and admire the various alfresco dining options, but don’t be tempted to dine here because the next stop offers exactly that!

12:00 PM: Visit Little Havana

A street in little Havana -- Miami

Even if you only have 1 day in Miami, this is one place you can’t miss!

After exploring Española Way, it’s time to immerse yourself in the rich Cuban culture of Miami by visiting Little Havana , located about 5 miles from Española Way.

To get there, you can opt for a short 15-minute taxi, or take public transportation which will take around 40-50 minutes.

We recommend taking a taxi to save time as you can’t afford spending close to an hour just in transit, yet you only have one day in Miami.

Once in Little Havana, start by walking along Calle Ocho (8th Street) , the neighborhood’s main thoroughfare, filled with lively streets bustling with live Cuban music, colorful murals, Cuban restaurants, cafes, art galleries, and cigar shops.

Be sure to check out the Calle Ocho Walk of Fame , which celebrates famous Latin artists and personalities.

Along the way, you’ll come across the iconic Roosters on Calle Ocho , a series of brightly painted rooster sculptures that have become a symbol of the neighborhood.

As you explore the area, visit El Titan de Bronze , a renowned cigar factory where you can witness the art of hand-rolling cigars by skilled artisans, and later stop by Domino Park ( Maximo Gomez Park ), where locals gather to play domino and chess and engage in friendly conversation.

By this time, you’re likely to be hungry, and Little Havana is the perfect place to eat. For a taste of authentic Cuban cuisine, we recommend grabbing lunch at local spots like Versailles Restaurant , Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina , or El Cristo Restaurant and try some Cuban classics such as ropa vieja (shredded beef), picadillo (ground beef stew), croquetas, or a traditional Cuban sandwich.

When it’s time for a sweet treat, head to Azucar Ice Cream Company , where you can indulge in delectable Cuban-inspired ice cream flavors.

still have more time? Then check out Ball & Chain , a historic venue that offers live music, and mojitos.

If you’d rather have a professional guide show you Little Havana to get the most out of your visit instead of going alone, then we recommend going on this Little Havana walking food tour .

This tour combines tasting Cuban food while also wandering the neighborhood’s streets to see the most famous attractions. Your friendly tour guide will also offer historical insights about Little Havana to fully immerse yourself in it.

2:00 PM: Admire Art At Wynwood Art District

Wynwood Art District is one of the places to visit in 24 hours in Miami.

Next on our 1 day Miami itinerary is Wynwood Art District renowned for its vibrant street art, trendy galleries, and innovative urban environment.

Located about 4 miles northeast of Little Havana, you can get there by taking an 8-minute taxi or a bus which will take approximately 40 minutes.

The area was once an industrial neighborhood that has been transformed into a thriving artistic community, with art galleries showcasing contemporary works, avant-garde exhibitions, and installations, but the highlight of your visit will be seeing the Wynwood Walls .

This outdoor museum, initiated by Tony Goldman in 2009 showcases large-scale murals created by renowned street artists from around the world.

Though the Wynwood Walls take center stage, there are so many other things to do in Wynwood .

Its streets are lined with eclectic boutiques, hip cafes, and unique art galleries, making it a perfect place to shop for one-of-a-kind souvenirs or simply enjoy the creative vibe.

You can also take a moment to appreciate the district’s innovative spirit and the fusion of art, design, and commerce that have made it one of the best Miami neighborhoods!

If you’re in the mood for a quick coffee break or a quick snack, there are numerous trendy cafes, craft breweries, artisanal shops, other and eateries where you can sample local flavors and recharge before continuing your perfect day in Miami.

We recommend staying in Wynwood Art District for about 2 hours to fully experience its artistic allure and vibrant energy.

While you can explore on your own, to get the most out of your limited time, we recommend taking this Wynwood Graffiti Golf Cart Small-Group Tour .

On this tour, you’ll explore some of the most beautiful murals and graffiti in a golf cart while your tour guide gives you some historical background and fun facts about them!

Plus, it’s a small group tour, so you’ll be able to have an intimate experience and ask as many questions as you’d like.

>>> Click here to book your guided tour of Wynwood Walls in a Golf Cart !

4:00 PM: Head to Vizcaya Museum and Gardens

Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is one place not to miss when in Miami for a day.

Once you’ve experienced the creative energy of the Wynwood Art District, it’s time to head to the Vizcaya Museum and Gardens , a stunning waterfront estate located about 6 miles south of Wynwood. It takes about 15-20 minutes by taxi!

The Vizcaya Museum and Gardens is a National Historic Landmark that features a stunning Italian Renaissance-style villa and ten acres of beautifully landscaped gardens.

Built in the early 20th century and owned by businessman James Deering, the estate showcases an impressive collection of European art and antiques, providing a glimpse into the opulence of Miami’s early days.

As you explore the mansion, you’ll be captivated by its ornate architecture, elaborate European furnishings, sculptures, decorative arts from the 15th to the 19th centuries, and the fascinating history that surrounds the estate. Each room tells a story of the past, showcasing the eclectic tastes of its former owner.

The gardens are equally mesmerizing, with meticulously designed landscapes, fountains, and sculptures, inspired by Italian and French gardens of the 17th and 18th centuries.

The Mansion also houses a museum that has a collection of art and artifacts from Renaissance sculptures to Baroque tapestries.

The entire estate offers visitors a serene and romantic setting making it one of the most romantic places to visit in Miami whether you’re interested in art, or history, or you simply just want to take in its beauty.

6:00 PM: Stroll Around Bayside Marketplace and Bayfront Park

Bayfront Park at Night in Miami

You can’t visit Miami and miss out on the bustling Miami downtown and there is no better way to get its bearing than strolling around Bayside Marketplace and Bayfront Park .

There are so many cool places to visit in Miami downtown like museums (from Perez Art Museum Miami to HistoryMiami Museum) and parks (like Maurice A. Ferre Park), but since you only have a day in Miami, you’ll have to skip them and just stroll along the neighborhood’s famous places.

Start with Bayside Marketplace , a vibrant, open-air shopping center located along the picturesque Biscayne Bay which offers an exciting blend of retail shops from local to international brands, perfect for picking up souvenirs or indulging in some retail therapy, eateries, and entertainment options.

Adjacent to Bayside Marketplace is Bayfront Park , a 32-acre green oasis in the heart of downtown Miami that provides stunning views of the bay and the Miami skyline.

The park offers lush green spaces, palm trees, and meandering pathways where you can take a leisurely stroll or find a peaceful spot to unwind and enjoy the waterfront scenery.

You can also admire the iconic sculptures and public art installations scattered throughout the park and the iconic Pepper Fountain .

Bayfront Park is also home to various recreational amenities, including an outdoor amphitheater that hosts concerts and events. You might even catch a yoga class or fitness session taking place on the park’s well-maintained grounds.

7:30 PM: Enjoy a relaxing cruise on Biscayne Bay

Night view of Miami from a Biscayne Bay cruise

While still in downtown, another activity to add to your 24 hours in Miami itinerary is cruising on Biscayne Bay .

You may not have seen most things in Miami but going on this Biscayne Bay sightseeing cruise will give you a glimpse of the city’s highlights from another perspective.

On this cruise, you’ll be able to take in stunning views of the Miami skyline, the Port of Miami, and some of the most popular islands like Hibiscus Island, Venetian Islands, Sunset Island, and Star Island where some of the most famous celebrities in Miami live.

The stylish ambiance, combined with the stunning views of South Beach and the Miami skyline, creates a truly magical atmosphere for your evening.

What’s the best time to visit Miami?

Before we get to the attractions though, a few words on what to expect. Miami’s climate is tropical, which is certainly something to consider when planning your trip. This means that the city’s summers are very hot and very humid. If that is a problem for you, avoid the period from June to October. Furthermore, hurricanes are quite common in the period from the second half of August to the end of September.

On the flip side, winters here are exceptionally mild – January averages 20 ˚ C (68˚F) – with less rain. So, if you can’t stand the heat and humidity, the best time to visit Miami is between December and March . If, on the other hand, you want to experience real Miami summer, June and July are ideal for that.

As for the events, there are plenty to choose from. Ultra   Music Festival attracts tens of thousands of electronic music fans every year, so do try to make it if you like this kind of music. However, if you want to avoid crowds, this is not the time to visit. International Mango Festival in July is something quite unique, and Miami International Boat Show in February is also huge. But this is just the tip of the iceberg – whenever you come, there will be something interesting to see.

Miami Beach

A few facts about Miami

Miami is the only one of the major US cities that was founded by a woman – her name was Julia Tuttle and thanks to her, the railroad came into the area and caused the city to grow.

Furthermore, the name Miami comes from the name of a tribe of native people who lived here in the 17 th and 18 th centuries. They were called the Mayaimi.

Of course, the city and its fashion, style and way of life were made famous thanks to the original Miami Vice show which aired in the 80s. Because of that show, huge parts of the city were renewed, and the number of tourists swelled. Today, the whole metropolitan area of the city is one of the biggest and cleanest in the whole of the US.

Miami

One Day in Miami Itinerary

You are in Miami and you are going to have an amazing time! One day in this city is enough for you to see what makes it so attractive and unique, but be warned – you will definitely want more! Nobody can remain immune to Miami’s charm. Follow this itinerary and see the top sights and things to do on your one day in Miami.

Start your day from Bayside Marketplace

Bayside Marketplace is a great location for the start of your tour. It is an energetic place with loads of shops, restaurants and shops, plus everything is accompanied by live music. Essentially, this is a shopping mall out in the open, so you can do your shopping or simply sit down for a drink right next to the bay.

In any case, you will be able to get a sense of what Miami is all about very quickly. The place is buzzing with people from all over the world, be they tourists or locals, and visiting it is a great way to energize yourself for the day ahead. Oh, and don’t skip the newly-opened Skyviews Miami Observation Wheel for some spectacular views.

Bayside Marketplace

Check out the Perez Art Museum

Right next to the marketplace lies the Perez Art Museum (also known as PAMM), so this is a great way to continue your one day in Miami. The building itself is a work of art, but what is particularly interesting is the attention this museum gives to local artists. So, this is a great way to get a sense of what Miami’s all about. Just keep in mind that the art here is all modern, from the 20th century to the present.

The museum has permanent exhibits and temporary ones, so there is plenty to see. And there’s also a great restaurant on the premises, ideal for brunch. Not to mention the view of the bay you get from this position. Definitely a must!

Make a trip to Miami Beach

After you’re done with the and the museum, make a trip to Miami Beach . It’s not very far, and you have lots of things to do, especially if you follow celebrities and want to know and see as much related to them as humanly possible. Most of them are located in the southern part of this area, and you can even get a boat tour and check out celebrity homes from close.

But there are many other things to do in South Beach , too. There is actually a surprising number of museums here, and the Art Deco Historic District is a must-see because of the huge concentration of Art Deco buildings in the area. On top of that, the food is excellent, so you will definitely enjoy yourself here.

South Beach Art Deco

Sit down for lunch

And since the food is great, Miami Beach is an ideal place to stop for lunch. And a lunch here fits nicely into your itinerary. You will undoubtedly see a few restaurants that will spark you’re interest as you’re exploring the area, but the following establishments should be at the top of your list.

Il Pastaiolo, for example, is a great Italian place, laid-back and pleasant, where you can enjoy outdoor seating. CVI.CHE, on the other hand, is an amazing Peruvian restaurant, while Santorini by Georgios has you covered if you’re in a mood for a Greek dish.

These are just some of the restaurants you can choose from, though. There are all kinds of cuisines represented here, many of which offer excellent, relaxed settings in which you can thoroughly enjoy your food. Explore a bit and you will be rewarded!

Stop at Vizcaya Museum

Vizcaya Museum is a National Historic Landmark, and as soon as you see it, you will understand why. A beautiful mansion built at the beginning of the 20th century looks like a lavish Italian villa. No surprise there because the building was inspired by the Renaissance.

It also has lush gardens which are beautifully decorated, and the 34 rooms inside are full of wonderful European pieces of art and furniture that, in some cases, go all the way back to the 15 century. The fact that more than a thousand people worked on creating this building tells you just how special and intricate it is.

There is a direct bus from Bayside Marketplace to the Vizcaya, and the ride takes about 20 minutes. The place is therefore quite easily accessible. On top of that, this museum is fairly close to the next place on our itinerary.

Visit Little Havana

Almost three-quarters of the city’s population are Latinos and one-third of the population is of Cuban origin. But to get a real sense of just how much these people mean to Miami, you should go and visit Little Havana .

Try Cuban coffee and food, mingle with the locals, maybe play a game of dominos, and see how Cuban cigars are made, all in a unique and very colorful setting. In fact, why not stay here for dinner? Old’s Havana Cuban Bar & Cocina makes authentic Cuban food and killer mojitos, and El Rey De Las Fritas is also worthy of your attention. Finally, you can’t go wrong with Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine , either.

This part of the town is very easy to get to, since this is an obligatory stop for many tour buses, and public buses go through this neighborhood too. Choosing one of the hotels in Little Havana is also an excellent way to experience this vibrant community.

Little Havana

Experience Miami nightlife

Let’s face it, most of the people who come to this city will come with Miami nightlife in mind. After you’re done with sightseeing, you will surely want to have some fun. And if you’re planning on pulling an all-nighter, South Beach is the place to be.

Mango’s Tropical Cafe is one such place, and Nikki Beach is a restaurant on the beach that turns into a club at night. Voodoo Lounge is also worth a visit, but there really are loads of clubs here you can check out. Just remember that you may have to wait in a queue to get in and some places can get quite pricy.

In all honesty, though, if you’re a party-goer, it will be well worth it. Latin music is particularly popular due to the make-up of the city’s population, but there are also many DJs (big names come here), clubs for singles, LGBT persons… you name it. Clubbing in Miami will definitely be an experience of a lifetime.

South Beach at Night

What to do near Miami airport?

If you’re just passing through and don’t even have 24 hours in Miami, don’t worry – there are things to do near Miami airport, too. Depending on how much time you have, you can take the bus directly to South Beach, for example. You also have the Dolphin Mall relatively close to you. However, if you can’t spare too many hours, there are some interesting things to do in Miami airport, as well. The food is great, and you can try many Cuban specialties to get a taste of what it’s like around here, but the airport also boasts a yoga room, art exhibits and even a spa.

Day trips from Miami

If you’re not in the city for the first time and want to see something new, or if you’re spending three days in Miami or something like that and have a day to spare, book one of the day trips from Miami to some of the neat places nearby. Many people come here thinking of making a trip for Miami to Nassau, but Nassau is almost 200 miles away, so it’s not quite suitable for this kind of trip. Maybe if you have 3 days in Miami or more, you can do it. However, you can still visit the Bahamas, just check the list below.

One day cruise from Miami to Key West

One day cruise from Miami to Key West is among tourists’ favorite ways to enjoy this part of the Caribbean, and rightly so. It’s very easy to get a boat, but what makes this place particularly enchanting is the abundance of marine life. If you want to go scuba-diving or snorkeling, this is quite literally the perfect place to do it. Coral reefs, all kinds of beautiful fish and dolphins can all be seen here, but you can go on a trip on a boat with glass bottom if you don’t want to get wet.

Everglades airboat ride

If you really want something to get your adrenaline going and see not just the city but the nature around it, Everglades airboat ride is a great choice. This is one of the best things to do in Miami because this national park will provide you with a unique view of the city’s impressive skyline. The airboat ride itself lasts about half an hour, but you go through the jungle, look for alligators and do all kinds of exciting stuff. A short cruise in the Biscayne Bay before you go back to your hotel is a perfect way to end the day.

A trip to the Bahamas

Among Miami day trips, a trip to the Bahamas is something especially alluring. Bimini, the island closest to the US, is just 50 miles away. You can get there in about two hours and then spend the day enjoying incredible beaches, exploring underwater shipwrecks, swimming with dolphins or relaxing in this peaceful place by grabbing an excellent meal and just soaking up the atmosphere of this place. Bimini offers a complete touristic package, especially for those who like an active vacation.

Duck Tours in Miami Beach

Of course, you always have the option of hopping on a guided tour and letting a guide there tell you and show you everything you need to know about Miami. But which tour to choose? Well, Duck Tours in Miami Beach (South Beach) are a great way to quickly learn a lot about the city and do so in a really memorable way. You see, this tour will take you on an amphibious vehicle which will eventually splash into Biscayne Bay. Couple that with extremely knowledgeable guides that accompany you, and you get a unique experience worth every cent!

Extra tips for visiting Miami

– Miami is world-famous for its nightlife, but there are some peculiarities about this aspect of the city you should know about if you want to go clubbing. Namely, the real action usually starts pretty late, often well after midnight, so people who turn up before that will in many cases find the clubs empty. Many times, even DJs won’t show up before 2 or 3 in the morning.

– Don’t forget your sunscreen! Summer days can be extremely hot, and no matter if you’re just sightseeing or heading to the beach, you should always have a bottle of this thing by your side.

– Go Miami Card is what you want when visiting all the attractions the city offers. Depending on which type of card you choose, you can save up to 55% this way when visiting things. Everything is done online, and you can even pick and choose exactly which attractions you want to see and then include them in the pass.

Though that can be fantastic beach weather, if you’re looking to spend a low-key 24 hours in Miami, it’ll leave you drenched in sweat if your itinerary has you on the go. So, plan accordingly: apply sunscreen like the se regularly (at least SPF 30), and be sure to stay hydrated!

Ready for a whirlwind day exploring the Magic City? Here is your guide to the best things to do if you only have one day to explore Miami.

Disclaimer: Try as you might; you aren’t going to make it to every spot on this list — nor should you try! One of the most beautiful things about Miami is its vibrant lifestyle. Although there are countless  things to do in Miami , forget about rushing around to try to see them all.

Keep reading here to see what catches your interest, then save this post, so you’ve always got ideas on hand. Once you’re inspired and have some ideas in mind, just see where the day takes you.

Morning in Downtown Miami

The best place to start your day is in downtown Miami. You’ll find some of the best hotels in the city right here in the heart of it all. If you can make it work, spend the night here, then start bright and early to make the very most of your one day in Miami.

Getting to Downtown Miami

Flying into the city? Getting from Miami International Airport to downtown Miami is as easy as can be. While it is rare to see, the cheapest option, the Metrorail train system is actually one of the most desirable options for getting into the city.

MetroMover in Downtown Miami Florida

Between the Dolphin and Flamingo Garages, head up to third-level Skytrain to connect to the MIA Mover station. Jump on the Metrorail Orange line and take it down to the Government Center train station. With 15 minutes and for just under $3 bucks, you’ll be in the heart of the city.

Insider Tip :  Leave the car keys at home! If you’re only in Miami for 24 hours, or even a few days, there is no need for a car. You’ll just add stress to your vacation by trying to track down parking spots and dealing with the notorious Miami traffic.

Getting Around Miami

If you’re up for it, renting a Citi Bike Miami is a great way to get around the city while enjoying the weather.

Citi Bike Docking Station

Prefer to keep your feet on the ground? Pounding the pavement is one of the best ways to see the city, and you can always hop in a taxi, use a rideshare service, or check out Miami’s public transportation options.

Before you go, download the  Miami-Dade Transit app , so you have it handy, and be sure to download an offline map on Google Maps, so you always know the best way to get from point A to B.

What to Do in Downtown Miami

Downtown Miami is the prime place to start your adventure. Along Biscayne Bay, you will find Miami’s first community gathering space at Bayfront Park . With open green spaces, a tropical rock garden, and picturesque bay walkway views, the 32-acre park is the perfect place to wander around and take in the atmosphere.

Once you have explored the park, head to neighboring Bayside Marketplace to shop for souvenirs (which has a great selection of restaurants, too, including the Hard Rock Café experience .

Bayside Marketplace is one of Miami’s most visited attractions. This outdoor mall of shops, entertainment venues, and restaurants is situated along Biscayne Bay. This is also a good place to arrange a boat tour of the striking city views that can only be seen from the water.

Best Tours in Miami

Want to grab a tour from downtown Miami to get a more widespread view of the city? For an unforgettable vantage point (and perfect selfie spot), check out the  Millionaire’s Row Cruise . This 90-minute tour is an ideal way to get off your feet for a bit while snapping postcard-perfect pics.

Another great way to explore and get the lay of the land is with the  Big Bus Miami Tour . Hop on board to cruise the city while enjoying that oh-so-sweet air conditioning.

Wynwood for Foodies and Craft Beer Lovers

While Wynwood is famous for its art, that is just the pretty surface. Look a bit deeper, and you’ll find some of the best restaurants and craft breweries in Florida.

To sample the best eats and tastiest beers, I’d highly recommend checking out the  Wynwood Art, Beer, and Tacos Tour .
