Deluxe Alaskan voyage and Rocky…

Deluxe Alaskan voyage and Rocky Mountaineer: we have just completed the last day of our tour which has packed a lot into the 17days in Canada. Excellent tour manager, John, had a huge amount of experience and knowledge of the areas we visited which enhanced our holiday experience. Our only criticism was that breakfast was not always included and many activities cost extra. On the whole, though, we felt the tour was well organised and that we now know a lot more about North West Canada, Alaska, its history, wildlife and culture.

Just had a fantastic week in…

Just had a fantastic week in Sorrento/Amalfi coast. The trips to Sorrento, Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi and Capri were wonderful! Also did additional trips on the land train and to Herculaneum which were also great. Hotel (grand hermitage) was lovely and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our tour manager Michele was second to none.

Southern Sights and Sounds

The holiday was excellent.We shared some amazing experiences with a great group. The organisation of the tour was key to our enjoyment. The Tour Manager, Steve Pritchard, was very organised, producing detailed information so we knew what was happening each day. He managed every aspect of the holiday and did it with a smile and enthusiasm. Our only criticism of the holiday was with the admin prior to departure. Titan provide excellent holidays but their admin (responses to emails and phone calls) is poor. More staff and swift communication with customers is needed. If this improves they would get five stars!

Titan quick response to issue…

Following on from our review regarding lack of urgency from Titan after our original holiday had been cancelled. The next day Titan got in touch, apologised for what had happened and assured us that they would sort another date for us asap. This they did with our agent within 48 hours and we are now very pleased and have confidence that our holiday experience with Titan in Kenya will be amazing.

Another great Titan experience

Another great Titan experience with small ship cruising in Croatia, our 3rd. This one was the Adriatic Coastal Explorer on MV Amorena, with Bobby, our excellent friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. The captain and crew were extremely hard working and always smiling! Being picked up from home was a wonderful start to a brilliant holiday, with a group of people who all got on well together.

Don't try calling after reserving/ booking

Very quick to answer the phone when you are interested in booking your tour/ holiday. Very hard to get an answer once you have done that! The 'let us call you back' service does not work. I next gave up after 8 mins because dinner was ready. Today I was determined to wait the call out but again gave up after 25min and 20 seconds. Sorry guys, you've lost this booking! Edit: As you replied to me Deb, I was on the phone for another 22 minutes and it was answered by the lovely Katrina!

My First Titan Travel Experience

I’ve just arrived back from my first Titan Travel tour - Southern Sights and Sounds which was amazing, far more than I imagined. The itinerary was full of opportunities to have a great time exploring the Deep South. The highlights for me were visiting New Orleans, Nashville and, of course, Graceland. However some of the other places along the way including Monroeville and Montgomery provided poignant reminders of the South’s role in history- a great balance of experiences. Our Tour Manager, Steve Pritchard, was brilliant and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic experience. His organisation was excellent, producing ongoing detailed information at the same as sharing his extensive knowledge of the area. He encouraged the group to explore but was always there to support and help us have fun. Thanks Steve, a holiday full of fabulous memories!

Wild borneoHave just returned from wildlife Borneo…

Have just returned from wildlife Borneo trip with titanic. Everything has been amazing. Every place we stayed in was amazing. The places the hotel. The ppl were met. We very very fortunate to have wonderful Ppl in our group which helped make the holiday more enjoyable. We have seen and done so many things. Would like to say a massive thsnkyou to our tour manager Andrea and tour guide nick. Who have been fantastic the whole trip and mad us memories that will last a lifetime. Also thanks to the titan taxi drivers who collected us and took us to the airport and collected us back. Would recommend titan

Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast

This was our 4th holiday with Tital previously travelling to Kenya, South Africa and Israel and this was by far the worst holiday we have had with you. it started at:- Heathrow airport We had been in touch via our booking agent Co-op travel Long Sutton to ensure that my husband and I were seated together due to his medical issues and an email was received back from Titan telling us to make ourselves know to the Titan rep at Heathrow Unfortunately THERE WAS NO Titan rep at Heathrow to assist. Luckily enough being a frequent traveller, I knew what to do ,so I also helped a few of the other Tital/Saga passengers check in. Hotel Grand Hermitage Hotel Room allocated 207 - I can see why this hotel is not advertised in your 2025 brochure! Tired and shabby hotel not 4 star more like 2/3 budget hotel as also used by EasyJet and Tui. Poorly equipped bathrooms with mixed tap shower over bruises caused by mixer tap as bath too narrow to have decent shower in when turning round shower curtain also stuck to you Bed broken and that hard some customers were asking for mattress toppers (only a few available and run out) Exposed wires in room lighting No bottled water available in room had to purchase at hotel or 5 min walk to St Agatha shops to purchase - was told not to drink tap water as may cause upset stomachs! Surely this is a basic requirement even in Kenya it was provided free of charge. Air con in room not working - only after 4 days was told you have to ask in reception to have is switched on in individual rooms Pool area broken sunbeds weeds and overflowing bins Breakfast standard okay however evening meals atrocious, frozen food still cold in the middle, chewy meat and over cooked fish, frozen thawed vegetables, cherries served for dessert 4 days in a row as you can guess brown and going bad by day 4. Views were amazing over the bay however only a semi view due to grotty green roof Transport 2nd day to Sorrento Bus only had 2/3 of seat belts working (issue raised by Tital/Saga Rep Nora Daghari I must add Nora was excellent and tried to sort out issues as they were raised as was Suzy at Co-op travel. I feel it was the hotel mainly that let the holiday down and the communication at Heathrow. Very disappointing holiday Titan I expected better holiday standards from your company especially considering the amount paid. PS I am still awaiting a response from emailing customer services

A Memorable Small Ship Cruise

Our recent Titan holiday in Croatia (Adriatic Coastal Explorer) was amazing. It certainly met and exceeded our expectations, and we enjoyed one of our best holidays ever. The organisation of the holiday was superb and special thanks goes to the captain and crew of the MV Amorena for their attention to detail. The ship was immaculate, the accommodation was comfortable, and the food was excellent. Our Tour Manager Bobby deserves an extra special mention as he really made the holiday memorable. His enthusiasm and local knowledge were outstanding, and he worked tirelessly to ensure that all the guests not only enjoyed every moment of the cruise but also had an insight into the history of Croatia and Croatian culture. The places we visited, the local guides and the scenery were outstanding and from start to finish Bobby was totally committed to making sure the cruise was memorable.

The Douro Valley

The Douro Valley I've just returned from this trip and enjoyed my week away. The local guide, Maria, on the walking tour of Porto was so interesting and very friendly. It was quite a long walk on uneven pathways with steps and some people found it difficult. The Quinta Avenida and gardens were lovely but I'm not sure why the Lamego Musuem was included ? The train ride had wonderful views of the Douro Valley. I'd encourage people to do the optional day trip to Mateus Palace, more time there would have have been lovely, and the Quinta De Pacheca in the afternoon were highlights for me. The hotels were mixed, all very clean with friendly staff. The Cidnay Santa Tirso was my favourite, stylish with very helpful staff and another day there would have been lovely. The Placido Hotel Douro Tabuaco had a lovely outside terrace and inside seating areas which were sadly lacking at the Palace Hotel & Spa Asturias where we spent 3 nights. The breakfasts all had a good choice but I wasn't impressed with only a choice of 2 main courses in the evenings. Not having been with Titan before I didn't realise the choice was so limited at night. The guide Veronika and driver Marco worked well together to get us all to all the tours which wasn't always easy for them, so a big thank you to them.

We have travelled on Titan Tours many times.

We have travelled on Titan Tours a great many times and have really enjoyed them without exception. They handled the Covid Crisis very well and allowed us to move booking where necessary. We have recently booked through a Travel Agent which means we can get quotes for a variety of Holidays/ Departure Dates by email and book our choice by email return, we also get a small discount !

Excellent service again from Titan regarding bookings for 2024 holidays. Have holidayed with Titan for 10 years now, normally once, sometimes twice a year. Not yet been disappointed. With all the stress taken out by pick up and return home by their private taxi, coupled with guided tour holidays,we know we are in professional hands.

Titan/Saga: Mobility required for Level 2 holidays

Hi Deb. Thank you for your response to my review. However, I’m afraid you have missed the point I was making in respect of mobility. It is not Saga giving advice, it is people being in denial of their mobility and booking inappropriate tours. On our recent tour, some folk were clearly in denial about their mobility and booked a level 2 holiday when it was clearly beyond their ability to walk at a moderate pace. This became a issue for those quite rightly wanting to enjoy the holiday they had booked. Hence my comment about the tour guide’s authority being made clear in holiday confirmation.

A tough trip but worthwhile

Sicily, Jewel of the Mediterranean Great service to Gatwick. Loved the hotels. The only one that was disappointing was Mercure in Palermo which was very much a bed factory and chaotic breakfast. The other hotels were brilliant and the food was exceptional. As a suggestion why not add a free day on arrival , a free day in Palermo and a free day before departure. The itinerary was pretty intense and looking at the average age of those travelling it was quite a challenge. With three extra days at leisure you would feel that you both a tour and a holiday. There were supposed to be two free afternoons but these amounted to returning to the hotel at 3/4 pm! Also please include gratuities as these are embarrassing for both the customer and the guide

A great trip to undiscovered Portugal…

A great trip to undiscovered Portugal Lisbon to the Algarve. We had a very good guide and saw so many interesting things including some well timed local festivals. Only downside was the very late return to the UK.

The Tour Guide and local guides were…excellent pity about hotels

The Tour Guide and local guides were excellent. The hotels not so good. Big conference hotels where we felt processed. Food, not wonderful and coffee awful. Too many other tours at one hotel, dining room was crowded and noisy. Locations not too good re access to other restaurants. A pity as Puglia is well worth the visit.

Lack of information regards possible…

Lack of information regards possible extension Phoned to make a booking on a Nile trip three weeks ago tomorrow and asked for cost of an extension at the end of the holiday- as advertised as possible I am still waiting, have phoned three times and very nice folks who replied could not help me and said they were waiting for the information. I have not travelled with Titan before but this does not fill me with a huge amount of confidence

Titan Travel unveils 2023-2024 brochure with 25 new tours

Titan Travel has launched its latest Worldwide brochure, featuring new tours to destinations including Japan, Cuba and Italy.

Spanning 260 pages, the operator’s flagship brochure showcases a collection of its best-selling holidays from around the world, including 25 new tours for 2023 and 2024 departures.

The brochure also includes ‘enhance your adventure’ recommendations on how customers can extend their holidays, as well as tips from the operator’s team.

Flexi deposits are available on 2023 and 2024 departures, with customers able to amend their holiday at ant time until the final payment at no extra cost.

Andy Squirrell, managing director at Titan Travel, said: “After an incredible year of holidays, we’re delighted launch our latest Worldwide brochure to help our customers plan their new travel adventures for 2023 and 2024.

“This brochure beautifully highlights how Titan continues to offer more value in its tours worldwide, from more experiences to more knowledge and more flexibility, all to make things more reassuring and effortless for you, our customer.”

To celebrate the launch of its new brochure, Titan is offering every customer a free airport lounge pass at No1 and Aspire Lounges on every new international booking made from December 28 to January 31.

The operator has also announced its January incentives for agents, including four £500 Lifestyle vouchers to be won.

Agents who complete a booking in January via its online portal can earn a £20 lifestyle voucher. For every new offline booking made in January, agents will receive a £10 lifestyle voucher.

Every agent who confirms a new Titan booking between in January 2023, online or offline, will receive an automatic entry into its top prize draw for the chance to win one of four £500 lifestyle vouchers.

Deluxe Alaskan voyage and Rocky Mountaineer: we have just completed the last day of our tour which has packed a lot into the 17days in Canada. Excellent tour manager, John, had a huge amount of experience and knowledge of the areas we visited which enhanced our holiday experience. Our only criticism was that breakfast was not always included and many activities cost extra. On the whole, though, we felt the tour was well organised and that we now know a lot more about North West Canada, Alaska, its history, wildlife and culture.

Just had a fantastic week in…

Just had a fantastic week in Sorrento/Amalfi coast. The trips to Sorrento, Pompeii, Positano, Amalfi and Capri were wonderful! Also did additional trips on the land train and to Herculaneum which were also great. Hotel (grand hermitage) was lovely and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Our tour manager Michele was second to none.

Southern Sights and Sounds

The holiday was excellent.We shared some amazing experiences with a great group. The organisation of the tour was key to our enjoyment. The Tour Manager, Steve Pritchard, was very organised, producing detailed information so we knew what was happening each day. He managed every aspect of the holiday and did it with a smile and enthusiasm. Our only criticism of the holiday was with the admin prior to departure. Titan provide excellent holidays but their admin (responses to emails and phone calls) is poor. More staff and swift communication with customers is needed. If this improves they would get five stars!

Titan quick response to issue…

Following on from our review regarding lack of urgency from Titan after our original holiday had been cancelled. The next day Titan got in touch, apologised for what had happened and assured us that they would sort another date for us asap. This they did with our agent within 48 hours and we are now very pleased and have confidence that our holiday experience with Titan in Kenya will be amazing.

Another great Titan experience

Another great Titan experience with small ship cruising in Croatia, our 3rd. This one was the Adriatic Coastal Explorer on MV Amorena, with Bobby, our excellent friendly and knowledgeable tour guide. The captain and crew were extremely hard working and always smiling! Being picked up from home was a wonderful start to a brilliant holiday, with a group of people who all got on well together.

Don't try calling after reserving/ booking

Very quick to answer the phone when you are interested in booking your tour/ holiday. Very hard to get an answer once you have done that! The 'let us call you back' service does not work. I next gave up after 8 mins because dinner was ready. Today I was determined to wait the call out but again gave up after 25min and 20 seconds. Sorry guys, you've lost this booking! Edit: As you replied to me Deb, I was on the phone for another 22 minutes and it was answered by the lovely Katrina!

My First Titan Travel Experience

I’ve just arrived back from my first Titan Travel tour - Southern Sights and Sounds which was amazing, far more than I imagined. The itinerary was full of opportunities to have a great time exploring the Deep South. The highlights for me were visiting New Orleans, Nashville and, of course, Graceland. However some of the other places along the way including Monroeville and Montgomery provided poignant reminders of the South’s role in history- a great balance of experiences. Our Tour Manager, Steve Pritchard, was brilliant and went above and beyond to ensure that we had a fantastic experience. His organisation was excellent, producing ongoing detailed information at the same as sharing his extensive knowledge of the area. He encouraged the group to explore but was always there to support and help us have fun. Thanks Steve, a holiday full of fabulous memories!

Wild borneoHave just returned from wildlife Borneo…

Have just returned from wildlife Borneo trip with titanic. Everything has been amazing. Every place we stayed in was amazing. The places the hotel. The ppl were met. We very very fortunate to have wonderful Ppl in our group which helped make the holiday more enjoyable. We have seen and done so many things. Would like to say a massive thsnkyou to our tour manager Andrea and tour guide nick. Who have been fantastic the whole trip and mad us memories that will last a lifetime. Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast

This was our 4th holiday with Tital previously travelling to Kenya, South Africa and Israel and this was by far the worst holiday we have had with you. it started at:- Heathrow airport We had been in touch via our booking agent Co-op travel Long Sutton to ensure that my husband and I were seated together due to his medical issues and an email was received back from Titan telling us to make ourselves know to the Titan rep at Heathrow Unfortunately THERE WAS NO Titan rep at Heathrow to assist. Luckily enough being a frequent traveller, I knew what to do ,so I also helped a few of the other Tital/Saga passengers check in. Hotel Grand Hermitage Hotel Room allocated 207 - I can see why this hotel is not advertised in your 2025 brochure! Tired and shabby hotel not 4 star more like 2/3 budget hotel as also used by EasyJet and Tui. Poorly equipped bathrooms with mixed tap shower over bruises caused by mixer tap as bath too narrow to have decent shower in when turning round shower curtain also stuck to you Bed broken and that hard some customers were asking for mattress toppers (only a few available and run out) Exposed wires in room lighting No bottled water available in room had to purchase at hotel or 5 min walk to St Agatha shops to purchase - was told not to drink tap water as may cause upset stomachs! Surely this is a basic requirement even in Kenya it was provided free of charge. Air con in room not working - only after 4 days was told you have to ask in reception to have is switched on in individual rooms Pool area broken sunbeds weeds and overflowing bins Breakfast standard okay however evening meals atrocious, frozen food still cold in the middle, chewy meat and over cooked fish, frozen thawed vegetables, cherries served for dessert 4 days in a row as you can guess brown and going bad by day 4. Views were amazing over the bay however only a semi view due to grotty green roof Transport 2nd day to Sorrento Bus only had 2/3 of seat belts working (issue raised by Tital/Saga Rep Nora Daghari I must add Nora was excellent and tried to sort out issues as they were raised as was Suzy at Co-op travel. I feel it was the hotel mainly that let the holiday down and the communication at Heathrow. Very disappointing holiday Titan I expected better holiday standards from your company especially considering the amount paid. PS I am still awaiting a response from emailing customer services

A Memorable Small Ship Cruise

Our recent Titan holiday in Croatia (Adriatic Coastal Explorer) was amazing. It certainly met and exceeded our expectations, and we enjoyed one of our best holidays ever. The organisation of the holiday was superb and special thanks goes to the captain and crew of the MV Amorena for their attention to detail. The ship was immaculate, the accommodation was comfortable, and the food was excellent. Our Tour Manager Bobby deserves an extra special mention as he really made the holiday memorable. His enthusiasm and local knowledge were outstanding, and he worked tirelessly to ensure that all the guests not only enjoyed every moment of the cruise but also had an insight into the history of Croatia and Croatian culture. The places we visited, the local guides and the scenery were outstanding and from start to finish Bobby was totally committed to making sure the cruise was memorable.

The Douro Valley

The Douro Valley I've just returned from this trip and enjoyed my week away. The local guide, Maria, on the walking tour of Porto was so interesting and very friendly. It was quite a long walk on uneven pathways with steps and some people found it difficult. The Quinta Avenida and gardens were lovely but I'm not sure why the Lamego Musuem was included ? The train ride had wonderful views of the Douro Valley. I'd encourage people to do the optional day trip to Mateus Palace, more time there would have have been lovely, and the Quinta De Pacheca in the afternoon were highlights for me. The hotels were mixed, all very clean with friendly staff. The Cidnay Santa Tirso was my favourite, stylish with very helpful staff and another day there would have been lovely. The Placido Hotel Douro Tabuaco had a lovely outside terrace and inside seating areas which were sadly lacking at the Palace Hotel & Spa Asturias where we spent 3 nights. The breakfasts all had a good choice but I wasn't impressed with only a choice of 2 main courses in the evenings. Not having been with Titan before I didn't realise the choice was so limited at night. The guide Veronika and driver Marco worked well together to get us all to all the tours which wasn't always easy for them, so a big thank you to them.

We have travelled on Titan Tours many times.

We have travelled on Titan Tours a great many times and have really enjoyed them without exception. They handled the Covid Crisis very well and allowed us to move booking where necessary. We have recently booked through a Travel Agent which means we can get quotes for a variety of Holidays/ Departure Dates by email and book our choice by email return, we also get a small discount !

With all the stress taken out by pick up and return home by their private taxi, coupled with guided tour holidays,we know we are in professional hands.

Titan/Saga: Mobility required for Level 2 holidays

Hi Deb. Thank you for your response to my review. However, I’m afraid you have missed the point I was making in respect of mobility. It is not Saga giving advice, it is people being in denial of their mobility and booking inappropriate tours. On our recent tour, some folk were clearly in denial about their mobility and booked a level 2 holiday when it was clearly beyond their ability to walk at a moderate pace. This became a issue for those quite rightly wanting to enjoy the holiday they had booked. Hence my comment about the tour guide’s authority being made clear in holiday confirmation.

A tough trip but worthwhile

Sicily, Jewel of the Mediterranean Great service to Gatwick. Loved the hotels. The only one that was disappointing was Mercure in Palermo which was very much a bed factory and chaotic breakfast. The other hotels were brilliant and the food was exceptional. As a suggestion why not add a free day on arrival , a free day in Palermo and a free day before departure. The itinerary was pretty intense and looking at the average age of those travelling it was quite a challenge. With three extra days at leisure you would feel that you both a tour and a holiday. There were supposed to be two free afternoons but these amounted to returning to the hotel at 3/4 pm! Also please include gratuities as these are embarrassing for both the customer and the guide

A great trip to undiscovered Portugal…

A great trip to undiscovered Portugal Lisbon to the Algarve. We had a very good guide and saw so many interesting things including some well timed local festivals. Only downside was the very late return to the UK.

The Tour Guide and local guides were…excellent pity about hotels

The Tour Guide and local guides were excellent. The hotels not so good. Big conference hotels where we felt processed. Food, not wonderful and coffee awful. Too many other tours at one hotel, dining room was crowded and noisy. Locations not too good re access to other restaurants. A pity as Puglia is well worth the visit.

Lack of information regards possible…

Lack of information regards possible extension Phoned to make a booking on a Nile trip three weeks ago tomorrow and asked for cost of an extension at the end of the holiday- as advertised as possible I am still waiting, have phoned three times and very nice folks who replied could not help me and said they were waiting for the information. I have not travelled with Titan before but this does not fill me with a huge amount of confidence

What is submersible tourism? The Titanic expedition, explained.

How common are deep-sea expeditions like the Titan’s? Where else do submersibles go?

Seeing the wreck of the Titanic firsthand is a journey.

One must board a submersible vessel about the size of a minivan built to withstand the pressure of descending nearly two and a half miles into the depths of the Atlantic Ocean . It takes about two hours to reach the sunken ship and another two to get back to the surface, plus time for exploration.

And even with a price tag of a quarter of a million dollars, there has been no shortage of people with interest for such an adventure. Philippe Brown, founder of the luxury travel company Brown and Hudso , said there’s a long wait list for the OceanGate Expeditions submersible experience at the center of the world’s attention. The vessel, called the Titan, vanished Sunday in the North Atlantic with five onboard , triggering a wide-reaching search mission that ended Thursday, when the Coast Guard said a remotely operated vehicle discovered debris from the vessel on the ocean floor. Pieces of the submersible indicated it had imploded in a “catastrophic event," Coast Guard officials said. A spokesperson for OceanGate said the pilot and passengers “have sadly been lost."

For the world’s richest and most intrepid travelers, a submersible trip is not so far-fetched, says Roman Chiporukha, co-founder of Roman & Erica, a travel company for ultrawealthy clients with annual membership dues starting at $100,000.

“These are the people who’ve scaled the seven peaks, they’ve crossed the Atlantic on their own boat,” Chiporukha said. The typical vacation of the ultrawealthy, like a beach getaway on the Italian Riviera or St. Barts, “really doesn’t do it for them,” he added.

That description fits tycoon Hamish Harding , who was among the five people on Titan. An avid adventurer who’s thoroughly explored the South Pole and the Mariana Trench, Harding was also on the fifth spaceflight of Blue Origin , the private space company founded by Jeff Bezos, who owns The Washington Post.

Harding and the Titan journey represent the extreme end of the submersible tourism industry, which has been growing in popularity since the 1980s. Ofer Ketter , a longtime submersibles pilot and co-founder of SubMerge , a firm that provides consulting and operations of private submersibles, says such deep-sea journeys are rare in comparison to those in more tropical locations. For example, the luxury tour operator Kensington Tours offers a $700,000, 10-day yacht trip that includes a 600-plus-foot dive in a submersible in the Bahamas to explore the Exumas ocean floor.

The latest: After an extensive search, the Coast Guard found debris fields that have been indentified as the Titan submersible. OceanGate, the tour company, has said all 5 passengers are believed dead.

The Titan: The voyage to see the Titanic wreckage is eight days long, costs $250,000 and is open to passengers age 17 and older. The Titan is 22 feet long, weighs 23,000 pounds and “has about as much room as a minivan,” according to CBS correspondent David Pogue. Here’s what we know about the missing submersible .

The search: The daunting mission covers the ocean’s surface and the vast depths beneath. The search poses unique challenges that are further complicated by the depths involved. This map shows the scale of the search near the Titanic wreckage .

The passengers: Hamish Harding , an aviation businessman, aircraft pilot and seasoned adventurer, posted on Instagram that he was joining the expedition and said retired French navy commander Paul-Henri Nargeolet was also onboard. British Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood, 48, and his son, Suleman, 19, were also on the expedition, their family confirmed. The CEO of OceanGate , the submersible expedition company, was also on the vessel. Here’s what we know about the five missing passengers.

UK airport descends into chaos at 4am with huge queues after u-turn over new liquid rule

Travellers at a UK airport experienced chaos following a major u-turn on a new liquid rule.

Over the past couple of years, British airports have been working on overhauling the restrictions on liquids you're allowed to take in carry on luggage.

Introduced in 2006 after a foiled terror plot, UK holidaymakers have only been allowed to carry small clear bag containing liquids no larger than 100ml in size, with anything larger needing to go in checked bags.

The system has long been a nightmare for travellers, especially as forking out for a checked suitcase is often needlessly expensive.

However, there seemed to finally be a light at the end of the tunnel when the UK government confirmed that these rules would be scrapped across the country by 2025.

Several airports have begun to roll out the new technology in preparation but, because this is the UK, there has been several technical issues, leading to lengthy delays to get through security.

The first major airport to make the switch is Birmingham , and images and videos from the city have revealed chaotic scenes.

In a series of images and videos shared on X , frustrated travellers can be seen waiting in long lines which snake around the outside of the airport.

"Carnage at Birmingham airport, 3 lanes of queuing at 4am," user @whites_electric wrote, alongside a video of the queue.

"Four lanes of queuing just to get inside #BirminghamAirport - the queues are moving and people are generally cheerful about it all, but it’s all a bit chaotic!" @NicolKinrade added, revealing it took her 80 minutes to get through.

"Utter chaos again, queues all over the place," a third person added.

The chaotic scenes were also causing several passengers to be danger of missing their flight, with user @wesandpete documenting their two hour wait on social media.

"Absolutely shambles and a terrible, stressful, exhausting start to the holiday," they wrote, adding that they had no time to get food or use the toilet before the flight.

Following the backlash, Birmingham Airport has issued an update to their guidelines on 9 June, urging travellers to follow the original 100ml liquid rules until further notice.

"Our new security area was designed, and resourced, to accommodate the increase to two litres being carried in cabin baggage, this currently cannot be operated with the temporary restriction," a spokesperson for Birmingham Airport added ( via The Sun).

"In order to have full compliance to this new directive we have further amended our operating process.

"We now have 'liquid check stations' at all entrances to the terminal where colleagues are directly assisting passengers to ensure liquids containers over 100ml are removed."

Chilling log ‘detailing doomed Titan sub crew’s final moments’ declared fake

A communications log purportedly detailing the final exchanges between the doomed Titan submersible and its mothership have been declared fake by investigators.

The vessel made global headlines in June last year when it disappeared during an expedition to the Titanic wreck at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean.

Rescuers launched a desperate search operation to try and save the five voyagers – Stockton Rush, UK billionaire Hamish Harding, French explorer Paul Henry Nargeolet, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his 19-year-old son, Suleman – before their 96-hour oxygen supply ran out.

But hopes of a miraculous survival were dashed when the US Coast Guard confirmed the OceanGate sub had imploded shortly after beginning its descent.

The so-called transcript emerged soon after and quickly went viral as it purported to lay out the passengers’ final moments as they realised the peril they were in .

According to the log, featuring a minute-by-minute description of events on board and rich in technical detail, cracking noises could be heard and alarms blared before contact was cut off.

Now, almost a year after the Titan vanished last June 18, the head of the US federal investigations team looking into the disaster has said the entire thing is bogus.

Captain Jason D Neubauer told the New York Times .: ‘I’m confident it’s a false transcript. It was made up.’

By whom currently remains a mystery.

The genuine communications log between the Titan and its control ship on the surface are in his team’s possession but have not been released.

Capt Neubauer said they have ‘found no evidence’ the five voyagers had any awareness of the imminent catastrophic implosion.

He added that he hopes the truth of the transcript, which was viewed millions of times, will console relatives of the men worried their last moments would have been spent in absolute anguish.

He said: ‘It doesn’t make it any less painful. But it can help.’

The inquiry began on June 23 last year and despite calls for it to be finished within a year, Capt Neubauer said that deadline may be pushed back due to the complexity of the investigation.

It comes after acclaimed filmmaker and Titanic expert James Cameron revealed his offer to assist with the inquest has fallen on deaf ears.

In an interview with 60 Minutes, he said of the investigation team: ‘I think they want to do things their way.

‘Frankly, I think they’ve kind of got egg on their face and they don’t want outside opinions. That’s just my interpretation.’

Cameron has been down to the famous shipwreck more than 30 times and designed and piloted a sub down to the deepest known point on Earth.

He said: ‘They should be inviting me but they’re not. Why listen to a scientist?’
