P&O Mini Cruise: All You Need To Know For Your Mini Vacation

Amolika Verma

It’s unavoidable; your other traveling companions have shown you their fantastic vacation photographs, and you’re now torn between outdoor cabins and a balcony. It’s about time you get in on the cruise action, but it’s difficult to know where to begin when it comes to choosing the ideal vacation. And, let’s admit it: if you’re a prolific cruiser, choosing who to go with next might be just as difficult!

You would like hassle-free booking (and departure), reasonable gratuities, and that ideal blend of comfort and elegance away from home. There is no need to look anymore; the P&O mini Cruise is indeed the way to go!

What is a Mini Cruise

If you haven’t traveled before or want to test out a new cruise line for the first time, a small cruise or ‘taster cruise’ is a great introduction to sailing. Mini cruises can also offer wonderful mini getaways in between your larger vacations.

A small cruise can be of any length less than seven nights, although the common length is two to four nights with only one or two ports of call on the schedule.

On board, you can expect to find the same live entertainment onboard, dining, and wellness opportunities as on a lengthier trip. Accommodation options are exactly the same as on a full trip, and you may choose your cabin or deck if you arrange it ahead of time.

5 Reasons to Embark on a Mini Cruise

1. ideal vacation.

A short cruise seems to be the ideal way to utilize your limited yearly leave days. You will not have to spend time waiting at terminals or figuring out how to get from one place to another. Instead, squeeze a full-fledged vacation into only a few nights.

Most P&O mini Cruise short breaks feature at least one land-based stop, allowing you to experience some of our favorite places during your well-deserved vacation. And you’ll only have to unpack once!

2. No Need for Prior Planning

Let’s face it: gathering the guys and organizing a vacation may be time-consuming. Several factors are to consider, ranging from travel times and accommodations to coordinating everyone’s schedules. All you need to do for a short cruise is show up! It’s a wonderful sensation.

Short cruises are also suitable for group excursions such as family reunions, season finales, or off-site company meetings. Once you board, you won’t have to bother about cooking or finding exciting activities since they’ll take care of it for you. In fact, every morning, a Good Times newsletter is mailed to your room by P&O Mini Cruises, which outlines the activities available that day.

3. Something for Everyone

What makes a nice holiday, in your opinion? A short cruise appeals to everyone, from cultural vultures to thrill seekers, whether it’s shopping, partaking in a luxury spa, relaxing by the pool, indulging your tastes on a tour across the world, or seeking adventure.

Several of the same live entertainment and dining options as on longer voyages are available on short breaks, including a variety of restaurants and bars, shops, and child-free oases. P&O mini Cruise Edge Adventure Parks may be found on the Pacific Dawn, Pacific Aria, and Pacific Explorer ships.

You may participate in 19 activities and depart with tales of rock climbing and ziplining on a cruise ship’s upper deck.

4. Solid Value for Money

Any cruise aficionado will tell you that you will be spoiled for choice in terms of what is included in your price. Cruises are less expensive and present special offers than most land-based vacations when lodging, activities, and major meals are included.

5. Try Before You Buy

You’ll have plenty of time to wander around the board, rest by the poolside, play trivia, dine at great restaurants every night, and be captivated by a performance. You’ll also experience what it’s like to halt at a port for a shore excursion without having to tote your baggage or passport around.

P&O Mini-Cruise Ship

P&O Mini Cruise, which is known for delivering British-style sailing onboard cruises designed for enjoyment and adventure, offers small cruises leaving Southampton. Typically sailing to Western European destinations, the combination of family-friendly plus adult-only cruises ensures that there is a vacation for everyone.

P&O mini Cruise, aimed primarily at British tourists, offers mini-cruises and themed mini-cruises that are likely to please both raucous families and individuals who don’t want to spend even the slightest degree of time encircled by shouting children.

The Perfect Opportunity to Find your Cruising Style

The mood on cruise ships varies greatly, and when evening arrives, the dress code has a significant impact!  With its blend of flashy gala nights and more casual evenings, the P&O Mini Cruise is indeed the ideal choice for enjoying the greatest of both worlds.

Can You Get Seasick

It’s worth mentioning that almost all P&O mini Cruises are over 850 feet in length and more than 100 feet wide, so even if the wind is howling outdoors with high seas, the ship will remain steady in the sea.

Remember that aboard, seasickness is uncommon, so you’re unlikely to be concerned about your gills; instead, concentrate on total relaxation and the amazing sights of the world.

Setting sail with amazing skies to reach your desired destination makes the perfect holiday for any solo traveler or family out there! Nothing sounds better than relaxing with your loved ones, exploring Europe and its cobbled streets, with full entertainment on deck and hundreds of fun activities to do.

P&O mini Cruise will amuse you on your outbound voyage with wonderful meals and drinks, great customer service, shopping, and a variety of entertainment options, including movies, musical concerts, and a late-night nightclub to waltz the night away, along with a perfect opportunity for kids to spend their school holidays!

P&O Mini Cruise – Hull to Amsterdam – An Independent Customer Review

9th April 2019 By David at HowToCruise 1 Comment

In March 2019, we drove across the M62 to Hull to join the P&O mini cruise to Amsterdam.

It was a break my wife and I were looking forward to.

  • See Amsterdam
  • Get away from it all for a couple of days
  • Enjoy the experience

So how did it go? Did the mini-cruise meet expectations? Was it cheap or expensive?

Here’s my independent cruise review of our experience…

Parking at the Hull P&O Terminal

So let’s be practical. What about parking?

It’s a pay and display car park, right by the P&O terminal – which is very handy. The staff advised us to leave our car in the multi-storey car park. They told us that this particular car park is locked overnight, whereas the outside tarmac car park isn’t.

Time to pay for the parking. It’s £8 per day – so we came prepared with 16 pound-coins. But no worries if you turn up with no change – the machine will take cards too.

Paying for the parking in the P&O Hull port car park

Check-in was pretty straight-forward, and soon we were heading up the ramp with the other passengers to embark the “Pride of Hull”.

An Inside Cabin on The Pride of Hull

So what’s the cabin like?

At check-in, they’d given us a paper/card type of e-key, so we went to take a look and drop off our luggage.

Our package included a basic inside cabin with 2 bunk beds. The top bunk swings down.

There’s no need to upgrade. This cabin had all the comforts. And a nice, clean bathroom with a shower.

Time to explore the rest of the ship…

Exploring The Pride of Hull Ship

The Pride of Hull contains all the usual things you’d expect on a cruise ship, such as a shop, restaurants, a wine bar and pub with entertainment.

Even a Starbucks coffee shop.

When we boarded, it was still very early, so we hadn’t set sail and most things were still closed.

On the top deck, the Skylounge Bar has the benefit of a nice view – and smart tables and chairs. This bar could almost be mistaken for a cruise ship.

Pride of Hull Skylounge Bar

In the evening, this Skylounge Bar hosts the more laid-back sort of entertainment. We discovered the price of a bottle of wine was rather more expensive than in the wine bar downstairs.

But for now… it was time to buy a cuppa before heading off to book a table in the restaurant.

The Restaurants on the Pride of Hull

For our evening meal, we chose the Brasserie.

The food was delicious and the service great.

But we could have chosen what they call “The Kitchen”, where, for a set price, you can eat as much as you want.

The Wine Bar

In the wine bar, it cost us £14 for a bottle of house wine.

As wine wine-bar prices go, that’s not bad – especially for a captive audience. Upstairs in the Skylounge bar, that would have cost us about £18.

Enjoying a nice bottle of wine on the Amsterdam mini-cruise

Off to Amsterdam

The next day, at 0900 we disembarked, went through the customs checks and hopped onto one of the coaches waiting outside the terminal.

Our coach was clearly labelled “Amsterdam”.

With the heavy traffic, the ride into Amsterdam took around 90 minutes. And as we left the bus, the driver told us the times of the various buses going back.

It was easy to spot the buses with the “P&O” label on the front.

So what’s Amsterdam like?

What to do in Amsterdam

The rain put a bit of a dampener on it for us. But we couldn’t let that spoil our day.

So first things first, we sought out the herring seller and bought a rollmop. That was the first thing ticked off the to-do list.

Bikes and boats are everywhere. Not surprising as it’s flat and full of canals.

Bikes and boats are everywhere in Amsterdam

Want a museum?

Well, the cheese museum is great. Lots of samples of delicious Dutch cheeses to savour, too.

And then there’s the tulip museum.

Amsterdam Tulip Museum

And… a cow museum.

And a museum celebrating the cause of the strange smell you’ll discover as you walk Amsterdam’s streets. Yes, a cannabis museum.

If you want to visit Anne Frank’s house, you’d better book your ticket online, months in advance. We didn’t, so all we got was a picture at the front door – as did lots of other people.

There are many other things to see, such as the Westerkirk.

And quaint places to shop.

You can see all these on the video we made .

We ended our mini-cruise to Amsterdam with a look around the shops

And finally, we took a last look at the canals, bikes and boats, before heading back to the coach for the journey back to the ship.

Going Back from Amsterdam

Back at the port, we got off the coach, through customs again, up the escalators, along the ramp, and got ready for another evening’s entertainment.

The wine bar was popular.

Near to the source of the entertainment, the volume of the music was quite loud. But there are a few corners where you can hold a conversation yet still hear the music.

There’s also a “quiet room” on board if music isn’t your thing.

Upstairs in the Skylounge Bar, there was more laid-back entertainment with a singer with an acoustic guitar. However, that was amplified loud, too, and there were no corners to sit and chat.

Eventually, we hit the sack and awoke in time for breakfast, before docking, disembarking, queuing through customs, and being reunited with our car.

Now, all we had to do was try to remember which storey we’d parked on.

Our Video Review of the P&O Mini Cruise to Amsterdam

We made a video of the whole of the mini-cruise – from beginning to end.

A movie-star at last!

How Much is the Amsterdam Mini-Cruise?

Our P&O Hull to Amsterdam Mini-Cruise was great value for money.

It cost £80 for the two of us. Yes, you read that right – £40 each.

But in peak season, you can expect to pay much more.

Unlike a normal cruise, this is actually a ferry – albeit a very smart-looking ferry.

And, unlike a normal cruise, food isn’t included. So you need to budget for your food and drink.

Accommodation and entertainment were included in our £80 price tag.

So we thought it was excellent value.

If you want a day in Amsterdam and two nights of entertainment at sea, this could be the perfect bargain break.

How to Get The Bargain Price

  • I’d recommend you aim to go early in the season (you know, the unpopular times when no one else wants to go and it’s cheaper).
  • Play around with various days – because prices can differ.  And then book it before the price changes.
  • Make sure to go through a Cashback website to get some cash back. Here’s how to do that .
  • Remember to get yourselves some travel insurance.
  • And then look forward to enjoying your mini-cruise.

P&O Customer Service

We all know that P&O Customer Service can be very challenging to deal with but on this occasion I would like to publicly thank them for their prompt and helpful, human service.

As is posted elsewhere on the board I am in the middle of a major crisis with a different cruise line but had need to contact P&O to cancel a future cruise for which payment was due.  When notified on Monday P&O stepped up to help by offering compassion and assistance in handling the matter of cancellation.  Their solution was offered promptly and was very generous.

This morning I had need to log in to my P&O account.  Imagine my surprise to find my aunt's "gifted" future cruise credit already transferred to my account and available for use.  Considering I only had the call with P&O late Monday afternoon I was surprised to find it there.

In addition to this, two overnight emails from P&O employees have arrived offering help and support in finding someone in the Princess organisation to deal with my complaint.

I appreciate that I am lucky to have made contacts with some P&O staff when discussing other issues and that many may not be so fortunate, but I really do feel I must praise them for their kindness, support and help. P&O and these individuals are helping to restore my faith in the cruising industry at a time when I am at my lowest ebb. A big thank you from me.

Thank you. Medically no change in condition but her sister saw her yesterday at last.  If there's any change I will update accordingly.

Unfortunately Global Response are not being helpful.  As a warning to all ensure you have your GHIC on you at all times as until ours is located we are paying ALL costs which the UK Government would contribute.  Well into £30,000 now!!

It really does depend on who you get.  In 2020 when we were having difficulty like many other getting our refund, I emailed the Head Office and was finally in touch with a lovely lady who sorted it out.

This year, we had moved 2 cruises to 2023, one of which I hadn't noticed fell over Easter 2023 which is a nightmare at our office because I do the weekends.  I asked the TA if the deposit for the April one could be moved to the October cruise.  He said he couldn't do that which I understood, so I emailed this lady who said "as a gesture of goodwill" she would put a note on my profile to enable my TA to move the deposit which he did.

Its always nice when good things get reported as we as a nation do appear to favour the negatives, even if some of them are justified 🙂

At the end of May, I cancelled a P&O cruise for next year, and am due a refund of just under £570, as the deposit was overpaid (long story, dates back to an original booking made in Oct 2019!)

I was told by my travel agent that the refund would take 28 days.... but I wasn't really expecting s refund in that time. Sure enough, I haven't received the money yet, so yesterday I telephoned my travel agent.  They had to phone the 'P&O Triage Team', to find out more.

I'm guessing that P&O Admin is still in some disarray, and they are prioritising enquiries. Rightly so, Megabear was given immediate attention as her situation was pressing and very stressful.  My situation isn't so important, so I've been given a timescale of 10 - 14 days for my refund.

It's reassuring that P&O will still help in an emergency

I haven't had my money in my account for more than two and a half years, so I can wait, as long as I don't have to chase it up again. But, in normal circumstances, I would think that getting on for 2 months for a refund is not so good!

I suggest renewal immediately. We have been told 14 days for the duplicate.  The emergency company Global Response will not accept responsibility for the part covered by the GHIC until we produce it, that's one of the reasons I'm furious about the lost bag at the port. We are therefore liable for 70% of land based charges until we receive it and my brother in law who has a POA is signing his life away almost hourly with his fingers crossed!  No idea what someone with limited funds would do.  I assume they would have to work something out.

Having read literally 100 insurance policies since this time last year every one requires you to carry an EHIC or the new GHIC. I'm not sure everyone is aware of the fact you actually have to present that and your passport to the hospital representatives.  I gave a copy of the passport to Princess as I couldn't locate it in the confusion but I was told not sufficient by the paramedic team and luckily it was to hand in my bag ready for the airport.

High Megabear being following your demise and your comments on the epic. Went into the gov site to read up on the latest as I have one at the moment noticed it talked about applying for a temporary  PRC if you couldn't produce yours .Would that not help in your Aunts case ? Other people can apply on behalf of other person don't know if that helps don't know myself if I'm talking rubbish !

Great to hear P&O have stepped up to the mark and supported where they could.

Hopefully your Aunt makes a full recovery.

I've not read all your recent posts (in particular the ones on the Princess forums) but I believe some individuals have been less than kind. Ignore those trolls, sad individuals who delight in others heartache really must have sad lives indeed.

I must thank you though for highlighting the importance of GHIC (former EHIC) cards, I'd not checked our EHIC cards for sometime and wrongly assumed such cards were no longer required. Ours had both expired and I have just applied for new GHIC cards via gov.uk website. I am sure there are many others like myself who will be prompted by reading your experience.

Hi Binman.  Yes we applied for the temporary one which Italian hospital has accepted to continue treatment.  However the insurance company requires the "proper" card so we have applied for an emergency replacement as per government website.

Unfortunately the claims handlers are insisting on lots of obstacles being cleared for each step to accept liability.  They've even argued the original Civitavecchia hospital was not a public one and my BIL had to get proof via family friend that is in fact the only public hospital in the area.

Currently the discussion is regarding if the move to the specialist cardiac unit is really necessary despite okaying it yesterday.

This is a real learning curve for us all. Thought if you had proper insurance no problem but they'll question you and wriggle every step of the way it seems!

Thanks

Sorry to hear about your troubles and hope the outcome is positive. I would just like to ask what a GHIC is. We have never heard of it. We had the old EHIC but that is now defunct I believe.

The GHIC has taken over from the EHIC.

Easy to apply for on line,  and, as Megabear has shown, is vital if you fall ill abroad.

After reading this, I checked my EHIC and it will expire this November. Had a look on the Government website which then sends you to the NHS website and found that I could renew up to 6 months before it expires. So I’ve just done that - took less than 5 minutes for the UK GHIC application to be successful.

However, I don’t think this GHIC card will cover Norway. A new EHIC card will cover Norway but I’m not eligible for one of those.

As I understand it Norway will accept a UK passport as a substitute if you have a GHIC card. Negotiations should be ongoing as the problem was the UK agreement for GHIC acceptance was with the EU and Norway is not in the EU.

Thanks for the information on GHIC card. I had an EHIC card that has expired but knew nothing of this replacement. It took literally 5 minutes to apply on govt website for me and Mrs Pete. I presume there are ‘companies’ who will charge a fee for applying for one for you (and getting basic personal details about you including your NI number) but doing it yourself is simple and free of charge.

During Covid we renewed our EHIC and it's always with us.

According to the gov website you can still use your EHIC card up to the expiry date. Ours don't expire until Oct 24.

This is correct. Either card as long as in date does the job.  My point was to ensure that if your EHIC expired or you though you didn't need a card now to ensure you obtain one.

I would also suggest you keep it on your person when ashore, eg if you have a misfortune and your card is onboard and the ship sails leaving you ashore. I know many who leave the card in the safe with their passport.

We always carry our card with us along with a photocopy of our passports, you can't be too careful. Thoughts are with you and your family.

A timely reminder Pete given this will prompt quite a few to check their cards and realise they need a replacement.

Although very alert to scams/rip offs now, at that time it wasn't so prevalent and we weren't tuned in to the dangers of such opportunism..

We fell into this trap the time before last when we needed to renew.  It was a bit last minute and we were in a bit of a flap so clicked on the first site which popped up and it just didn't register when we were asked for £10 to renew. They will claim to take care of it all for you - as though it's something difficult/complicated - which it isn't.

We learned our lesson!  We went to the nhs site the next time.

Just be sure to go to the nhs site - and it may not be the top of your search list - and if you're asked to pay it's  the wrong one!

Hi Megabear 2....I have been reading about your " incident" with your aunt....also have read your insight into the importance of having adequate travel insurance.....very informative. Wonder how many peeps actually take in the minute detail or  just skim over the summary of their Travel insurance.

Do peeps realise the importance of the GHIC card thinking...its ok I have travel insurance....that will be ok....that will cover my needs ....how many actually carry it around with them....all of the time.

For us it will be a situation that will not arise as we have made the decision that our travelling abroad days are over....it has nothing to offer us only possible aggravation....we have seen and experienced all  what we want to see  and are now rediscovering all that our wonderful country has to offer...in its many many varied ways.....peace of mind being on of the advantages for us.

I appreciate that many still want to try and carry on as normal but it is a changed world and you really need to be fully aware of any possible problems and pitfalls....thank you Megabear 2 for highlighting some of them

I wish you well on this latest "incident" and that the outcome is what you wish for.

Happy cruising & adventures everyone....wherever you find them

Yes. My husband’s card doesn’t expire until 2024 so I didn’t have to renew his card.  I would also like to thank Megabear for highlighting the continued importance of these cards - but sorry that she had to raise the issue in such sad circumstances.

Thanks. We have never been advised about getting one . We only have the full insurance which we were told is all that is needed. Incidentally it would seem that not all countries are covered as Norway is not included.

P.O cruise ship Aurora what a fantastic…

P.O cruise ship Aurora what a fantastic experience! The ease of boarding at Southampton was so easy and efficient. This was my first ever cruise and was concerned as a late booking meant an inside cabin with no view. So was very impressed with what I found. One minor niggle as 2 people sharing there was only 1 socket. A nuisance when charging phones and using hairdryer Crew amazing and very hardworking. Food excellent with good service. Evening entertainment worthy of the west end. Guest speakers on many subjects So nothing to complain about from a well satisfied first time cruiser

First cruise

First cruise, on Iona to the Fjords. Positives: Impressive ship. Spotlessly clean cabin. Great facilities. Good food. Amazing entertainment. Gorgeous locations. Negatives: Expensive extras such as drinks, some food options, fitness classes, and some of the excursions seemed like poor value. Disembarking was a bit of a rammy on the Saturday morning - crowds on the stairwells and a bit of a crush, could have been better managed. Didn’t embark til late afternoon on day one so felt a bit at a loose end in Southampton and not getting full time on the ship Spa prices were extortionate. Photographers not great - spent too long putting people into different poses but not actually listening to guests about what they wanted - and a minimum cost of £25 for a photo these days is a ripoff

P&O Cruise on Iona and the Nordic Fjords We have been back from our 1st cruise of the Nordic Fjords in Norway for 7 nights on P&O's IONA, The holiday was faultless Olden was fantastic a different world and the singing send off from the locals stunning. The service from every single member of staff was fantastic. The entertainment on board all for free was amazing. The food was great and generally just a stunning experience all round. The whole process from booking has been easy. The IONA’s facilities and staff were second to none we were so impressed we will be booking another cruise in the future Well done IONA & the ships company from bottom to the top!! The Captain's daily announcements were comical and made us chuckle A credit to P&O

P and O Update Your Customer Access

What reviews have so many spelling mistakes I went on an Arcadia Cruise in June 2024, eventually after three cabins we had a decent night’s sleep as Arcadia upgraded us, so Do Not Boom any cabin on DecK 8, regardless of cost £. The manager was amazing and eventually upgraded but 3 cabins, 3 lost sleeps???? Just booked 24/9/9/24 for 4 nights BUT spent so many hours on the telephone ( P&O even as a loyal customer had to wait for hours The website is so outdated, spinning around and around, why as a Penisular member do I have to log on twice? P&O update, ( I tried, I bet nothing improves)!! My next cruise All sorted now but P&O again ?????🫤

First Cruise Experience

We have just completed our first Med cruise on the Azura with P&O. Despite reading some of the negative comments we found everything to be pretty perfect from the P&O welcome at Stansted airport right through to the end of the holiday. Yes the ship needs a little TLC in small areas but nothing that spoilt our experience. I would recommend everyone try a cruise at least once. Its maybe not something we would try again but thats personal preference and not anything that P&O, the ship or the staff did to put us off. I would recommend doing the tours as we found them all to be very good. The food was amazing and the staff predominantly excellent.

Well I haven’t even got on the boat yet or got to the port , Try ringing their customer services and getting through to talk to someone ,more chance of getting next weeks lottery numbers from Prince Andrew .Over an hour on hold or not at all .If they care about repeat business hire some more people to answer the phones . God sake it ain’t rocket science . Just someone extra on minimum wage getting your cruise number and tapping a few buttons . Royal Caribbean same as last time expensive but at least they answer the phone .

New cancer diagnosis

I'm due to sail this coming Sunday, 13 nights med, I have been diagnosed with cancer last Thursday and Drs have said I require treatment this week and not advised to travel! Can only get through on the line if you choose buy a cruise after 4 days of trying! Company won't do anything only said I can gift it, I would love to defer as can't afford another holiday. So very disappointed my balcony cabin will be sold and p and o get paid twice for the cabin I'm so upset with my whole ordeal

1st time cruising

What a fantastic holiday. Iona ship : wow absolutely amazing Entertainment: brilliant Food : what a variety The whole experience was wonderful, The crew were amazing all so friendly and genuinely always looked happy. I would definitely go again the fjords were amazing , tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. Norwegian waffles with sour cream and strawberry jam ....... a must .

Cannot wait for our next Cruise!

This was our second ever cruise (and our second this year) we were that impressed by the initial experience on Britannia. Loved the Norwegian Fjords. Great Memories, Lovely Staff, gorgeous food and very professionally run by the whole ship's company. Already choosing our next cruise with P&O.

Consistent poor customer experiences

I raised a complaint on 18 august 2024 no acknowledgement of it so far. Another failure! Cannot follow its own complaints procedure. Not content to ruin my holiday but now ignores the complaint. Avoid these covid riddled sess pit ships. This company couldn’t care less about its customers. As an example, look at all the pointless cut and paste replies on here from Daisy who does nothing to help customers except apparantly ‘pass on feedback’. Is the resulting action ever fed back to those poor customers? How does that generic cut and paste reply with no offer of follow up, restore customers faith? in a very competitive cruise market I don’t see how you can survive long term with this adversarial treatment of customers.

Rated 5 out of 5 stars

Rated 5 out of 5 stars A day ago. Fantastic holiday to Norwegian Fjords. Ship Iona was luxurious with always something to do. Entertainment was fab while in board. Olden including sail in and sail away were a highlight. Food was superb. Staff very helpful and friendly. Limelight club with 3 course meal and entertainment a highlight. First cruise and holiday exceeded my expectations. Was one of my best ever. Thoroughly recommend it.

Fjord cruise on the Iona

Fjord cruise on the Iona. 5200 passengers is a lot but the ship coped admirably with the numbers. Olden was a delight as it always has been. Most of the bars were well staffed but table service can be painfully slow in Anderson's. Too many staff busy looking busy rather than looking after guests. The entertainment staff were a delight tried their hardest to make you feel relaxed and genuinely entertained. Food is not what it was, and felt like bulk catering rather than a special event Packet soup is simply not acceptable. Cabin with balcony was lovely

Just off our first ever cruise

Just off our first ever cruise. P&O Iona didn't disappointed. Something for everyone. Wether your looking for a party atmosphere or a quiet spot to relax. Very well organised, staff really helpful and friendly. Entertainment and food options very good. you get a chance to do the behind the scenes tour it's very interesting. You wouldn't need to get off the ship except you really wouldn't want to miss Norways Fjords. Ready to book our next cruise

Fantastic holiday on Iona to the fjords. We were a large group of 17 and had the best time . The staff on board were amazing and work really hard to make everyone’s holiday special… I have travelled with p&o cruises before and alway had a fantastic experience on board of their ships I look forward to next years holiday. We would definitely recommend p&o cruises .

All round excellent value for money...good food and accommodation. Relaxing stress free holiday.plenty of choice of destinations .entertainment on board if you want it .restaurants if you want them . Just a 5 star experience all round.

Would Recommend

First time on the Britannia to the Norwegian Fjords which did not disappoint a lovely atmosphere, staff and crew members were friendly and helpful. The cabin with balcony was clean and comfortable. There is a variety of food and restaurants to choose from. Entertainment was good plenty to do and late night evening bars for you to relax in. Stopped off in Flam which is worth a visit and the scenery of the Nordfjords is stunning and beautiful. I would go back and visit it again.

Fantastic holiday to Norwegian Fjords

Fantastic holiday to Norwegian Fjords. Ship Iona was luxurious with always something to do. Entertainment was fab while in board. Olden including sail in and sail away were a highlight. Food was superb. Staff very helpful and friendly. Met the Captain he also gave an announcement about seeing Northern lights. Limelight club with 3 course meal and Louise Dearman a highlight. First cruise and holiday exceeded my expectations. Was one of my best ever. Thoroughly recommend it.

The cruise to the Norwegian Fjords was stunning.

The cruise to the Norwegian Fjords was a last minute planned holiday, as I had never thought a Cruise holiday was for me. I couldn't have been so wrong! Everything about the cuise ship Iona and her staff were an absolute delight. I am certainly well rested after my holiday, and looking forward to our next cruise in March.

1st time cruise which far exceeded my…

1st time cruise which far exceeded my expectations. My only advice for this cruise would be to book an organised excursion in Olden, the other jump in a taxi ( get a card off driver for way back). P&o wanted 3 x £140 to pit rock we did there and back for £200. ( just keep walking in the direction you come off the boat taxi rank is 5 mins away). They wanted £70 x 3 for sugar lump mountain and we did it for £40 taxi there £25 and bus back £15 (stop is at bottom of the hill). All in all great value for money and would recommend ( excellent weather helped) packed for winter and got summer so pack some shorts and t shirts

Fabulous cruise on Britania to Norway

Fabulous cruise on Britania to Norway. Had a great time, plenty to do, particularly loved the cruise along NordFjord when couldn't bearth at the scheduled port of call due to extreme windy conditions. This turned out to be the best part of the cruise, such beautiful scenery and so relaxing. Many thanks to the Captain for such a wonderful cruise.
