DEEZ NUTS – SHOW MOVED

This show was moved from The Underworld to New Cross Inn.

This show was also due to take place on 1st March 2022 but will now take place on 1st Febuary 2023.

All tickets remain valid.

Deez Nuts are an Australian hardcore punk band that formed in Melbourne, Victoria in 2007. The lineup currently consists of vocalist JJ Peters, guitarist Matt Rogers a.k.a Real Bad and drummer Alex Salinger.

“You Got Me Fucked Up” is the album DEEZ NUTS needed to write. JJ Peters (vocals) explains: “It’s the breath of fresh air that we and our fans have been sorely missing. The thing that stands out the most about our songwriting, our performance and vibe on this whole album: We finally got our party sound back, but not in the sense of beat to death ‘party’ lyrics. These songs just scream fun.”

DEEZ NUTS deliberately picked different locations to write and record the album, despite sticking with Andrew Neufeld (Comeback Kid, Sights & Sounds) as co-producer. “This time we wrote in Toronto rather than New York City and recorded in Los Angeles rather than Boston like we did on the last two albums. The difference the surroundings brought to the album are very much felt throughout its ten bangers.”

Deez Nuts to hit UK as part of Euro tour

Aussies will take to the road in support of latest album Word Is Bond

Deez Nuts have announced a European winter tour that includes five UK dates.

The Australian hardcore outfit launch the trek in Germany on November 20 and will stop in Birmingham, Leeds, Glasgow, Sheffield and London. They’ll be supported by Nasty and Expire, with Astroid Boys joining for the shows between November 20 and November 30, and Coldburn from December 6 to December 18.

It’s Deez Nuts’ first headline tour in support of fourth album Word Is Bond , released earlier this year.

Former I Killed the Prom Queen drummer JJ Peters founded Deez Nuts in Melbourne, Australia, in 2007, taking the band’s name from a Dr. Dre song. Equally influenced by hardcore punk and hip-hop, the group’s lyrics focused on partying as well as hustling, and the group’s 2008 debut album, Stay True, appropriately contained a cover of Beastie Boys’ “Fight for Your Right.” The group spent much of 2008 touring Australia and Europe, and the sophomore full-length This One’s for You appeared in 2010. Deez Nuts’ third album, Bout It, was released in 2013, featuring numerous guest appearances from across the hardcore scene, including members of Architects, Madball, and Suicide Silence. Their fourth album, Word Is Bond, followed in 2015, featuring more introspective, less party-centric lyrics than previous efforts. The group’s fifth studio long-player, 2017’s Binge & Purgatory, featured the singles “Commas & Zeroes,” “Discord,” and “Purgatory.” Two years later, the album You Got Me Fucked Up featured heightened production values and integrated driving heaviness with bouncy pop hooks.
