K-Tour Top 10 Live Streaming | Online Live Tours of Korea

· Updated April 24, 2023 THIS POST CONTAINS AFFILIATE LINKS

As traveling to South Korea has become almost impossible over the past year, more and more online Korea experiences are popping up. You can take all kinds of experiences from learning Korean, to online Korean cooking classes or even K-pop dance lessons.

korea online tour experience

1. Jeonju Live Tour

2. danyang live tour, k-tour top 10 live streaming.

The Korean Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism partnered up with Guide Live and created 10 unique live tours of places around South Korea. The tours include major destinations like ( Busan , Gangneung, Gyeongju , Incheon and Yeosu) as well as smaller cities like (Buyeo, Damyang, Mungyeong, Danyang and Jeonju ).

Each tour is hosted by a different local tour guide and is held on Zoom. After booking you’ll receive a confirmation email which includes a Zoom link to the event. The link is active 15 minutes before the start of your online experience.

Click here to check out all different experience and to book your own.

Jeonju is a popular travel destination in South Korea and is famous for the beautiful hanok village, bibimbap and moju traditional wine. It’s located only 2 hours away from Seoul by public transport and is a nice day or weekend trip to escape the big city.

Jeonju Hanok Village lies just outside the city centre of Jeonju and houses over 800 traditional style Korean hanok buildings. Even though the village was constructed not too many years ago, it is a good representation of what buildings used to look like back in the Joseon Dynasty.

The Jeonju Live experience is hosted by a foreign local, Andreas, who has been living in South Korea since 2012. Of all the different online experiences available this is the only one hosted by a foreigner which makes it a bit different from the other experiences.

1.1 Personal Experience

I’m someone who travels on a very frequent around South Korea and have been to Jeonju 10 times or more. I’ve also worked as a Korean history teacher and tour guide. Because of this I’m not easily blown away by tours or Korea experiences. BUT I really enjoyed this tour. Andreas is very knowledgeable about Korea and Korean culture, and is a great story teller and speaker.

He really managed to capture the highlights of Jeonju and put a personal touch to it. I learned some new things about Korean history that I wasn’t aware off. The experience was personalized and participants could interact, ask questions and be part of the experience.

Taking this experience wanted me to instantly sign up for the other experiences.

Danyang is a beautiful city and is a rather less touristic travel destination, especially among foreign tourists. It is know for having unique paragliding locations and has lots more to offer in terms of touristic sights. Gosu Cave, one of the most famous caves in Korea, Guinsa Temple and the unique Dodamsambong Peaks are located in and around Danyang.

The online Danyang experience is hosted by Jaewoo Ahn, a local Korean, who has been in the tourism industry for years. She speaks great English and has unique stories to tell about her experience abroad and in Korea.

What’s unique about the Danyang tour is not only the touristic sights but also the food that is being shown. Jaewoo takes you to Danyang traditional market which is famous for its fried chicken and to a unique cafe with garlic themed desserts.

2.1 Personal Experience

Danyang is in my top 3 favourite places to visit in South Korea. I’ve been multiple times and it’s just such a beautiful travel destination. This is a destination I always highly recommend to anyone coming to Korea and wants to visit some lesser known places.

The online experience was nice as I could see Danyang from another point of view but it didn’t blow me away for 2 different reasons. The online experience was filmed on a cloudy day, and cloudy days just don’t do justice to the beauty of Danyang as it should be enjoyed with a blue sky. Reason number 2 was because the experience was not really interactive. It felt more like watching a lecture instead of an immersive experience.

Learn more about South Korea

Geograhy and environment.

South Korea is located at the south end of the Korean Peninsula, between the Sea of Japan and the Yellow Sea. Separated from   Japan   by the Korean Strait and demarcated from the state of North Korea by Korean Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), South Korea's terrain is a mix of flat lowlands and forested mountains. The coasts of South Korea are rocky and jagged, with thousands of islands (mostly inhabitable) scattered off the coastline.

Culture and customs

South Korea draws some traditions and customs from other neighboring countries in Asia, with a culture that stems from Confucianism. This system of philosophical and ethical teachings was introduced to South Korea in the 4 th century through Chinese scholars and was quickly embraced by the wider population until it officially became the state ideology in the early 1900s.

Confucianism emphasizes respect for aging, elders and ancestors, an intrinsic hierarchy that runs through work and social life, and upholds traditional family roles so you’ll often see families living together in one house.

During your travels around South Korea, you’ll also see plenty of traditions such as the act of bowing when greeting people, women wearing traditional dress (hanbok) and the practice of taekwondo (Korean martial arts). As well as ancient beliefs, new generations of South Koreans are embracing a modernized culture, one full of K-pop, Korean cosmetics and popular foods like kimchi and tteokbokki.

History and government

South Korea’s had an often turbulent history dating back to around 8000 BC when it was known as just Korea, but the country’s most impactful conflict began in the 1500s with the attempted Japanese invasion. Korea went on to become a Japanese colony in 1910 following its annexation of the Korean Empire, which ended in 1945 at the conclusion of World War II.

The country was then divided into two parts, the northern part which was protected by the Soviet Union and the southern part which was protected largely by the United States. Both the northern and southern parts of Korea officially became North and South Korea in 1948 when the two regions failed to agree on forming one, united government.

In 1950, North Korea set in motion the Korean War which was intended to unify the two countries under communism. But after much destruction to infrastructure and loss of human life, a cease-fire was called in 1953 with both countries signing the 1953 Korean Armistice Agreement. The two countries have since agreed to work towards a final settlement (The Peace Treaty on the Korean Peninsula) to formally and officially end the Korean War.

South Korea now enjoys a fully prosperous economy with a capital economic standing similar to that of countries such as the United States, Japan, and various countries in Western Europe.

You can’t go to South Korea for shopping and not stop in Seoul – the country’s premier destination for all things fashion, electronics, street food and skincare. In this shopper’s paradise of a city, you’ll find traditional Korean items perfect for souvenirs to tech gadgets not yet available on Australia’s shores.

Some notable districts/destinations where you can shop ‘til you drop include:

  • Myeongdong (shopping district)
  • Dongdaemun Market (shopping center)
  • Cheongdam-dong (luxury boutique area)
  • Pyeonghwa (wholesale market)

Top 5 culinary delicacies of South Korea

1. bibimbap.

As one of Korea's standout dishes, bibimbap is a tasty concoction of meat, vegetables, egg, and rice. Soy sauce, chili paste, garlic, and sesame oil all add flavor to this amazingly colorful dish found everywhere in Korea.

Kimchi is hailed as a nutritional powerhouse - packing a healthy punch of nutrients, vitamins, and beneficial bacteria that makes it one of the world's healthiest superfoods. But most people don't eat these fermented vegetables for health reasons - it's the uniquely, tasty flavor and versatility that makes kimchi so popular in Korean cooking.

These delicious, savory pancakes are a standard of Korean cuisine. With hundreds of different varieties, jeon can be served with red meat, chicken, seafood, vegetables, tofu, and even edible flowers.

Similar to sushi, these highly popular rice-based morsels feature fish, beef, or crab, wrapped in seaweed with pickled or fresh vegetables. Available all over Korea, they are the perfect snack on the run or quick, cheap lunch to enjoy between sightseeing.

Arriving in Korea by the way of Mongolia, mandu are essentially boiled, steamed, or pan-fried dumplings. A cheap, street food favorite, mandu can be filled with everything from pheasant to tofu, cucumber, beef, and beyond.

ABOUT KOREA

General information.

Korea has four seasons, with monsoon/summer in the middle of the year, and a cold winter from November to March. The ideal time to visit Korea is during the Autumns Months (September – November) where can experience warm, sunny weather, cobalt blue skies and spectacular foliage that is perhaps the biggest draw. Winter are cold and dry and are a good time to visit if you are interested in winter sports as there are numerous ski resorts. Spring (April-May) is also beautiful with all the cherry blossoms in bloom.

Korean food, which has evolved over the course of thousands of years, is characterized by the belief that good food is the best medicine. The popularity of Kimchi, Samgyetang, Bulgogi, Bibimbab, and other Korean food is on the rise owing in part to the increased recognition or the health benefits of Korean dishes, most of which are low in calories and full of vegetables.

My South Korea tour was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. The whole trip was very varied, giving us the chance to get to know many different sides of the country. The tour itself was also very well organised. Our tour guide Damien was the best. With a lot of personal enthusiasm he gave us a lot of background information, showed us the best food spots and just generally introduced us to the exciting culture. I can't wait to return and can only recommend this trip to everyone!
Tour was great for a first timer to South Korea! Lots of sightseeing, good food and activities. Damien was the best guide - he took us to a lot of places where we wouldn't have thought of going! And it was very handy to have a Korean guide to break the language barrier in certain areas.

I highly recommend the Soulful South Korea trip. It was a busy trip but an excellent way to see a variety of cities and other areas of South Korea and to take part in a variety of activities - some perhaps once in a lifetime - all wonderfully organised by our Local Insider Yong. As someone who is not particularly fit I was initially concerned about the amount of activity involved in the trip but I found this to be manageable and Yong. who went above and beyond to support our group and also to give us as authentic an experience of Korea as possible, was able to be flexible regarding the activities when necessary. It was a brilliant introduction to a beautiful and interesting country, shared by a wonderful group of people
We had a fantastic time and I would wholeheartedly recommend this tour to anyone. There was a huge variety of experiences, from staying in high rise hotels to the the floor of a Buddhist Temple. Yong was a superb tour guide and included us all things he recommended in the evening even though he was off the clock. Book with confidence

Michael, our tour guide, was patient, friendly, and flexible with different age travelers and physical abilities by adjusting the activities for them. The Best of Korea tour's itinerary was very full. I think many of us enjoyed the itinerary and the experiences we had. I, particularly, enjoyed the various transportation methods which added to the experience. The War Memorial Hall of Korea museum is a big museum and had very important history. Most of us needed more time. I think this activity could of come at the beginning of the tour for us to have better knowledge of Korean history. On the tour's last day, after the museum, most of us thought there was going to be a group dinner. The tours I have been in the past had end of the tour dinner to say good bye and show our appreciation to the tour guide. It's nice to have a closure after spending a week together. We were disappointed that the day just ended after returning to the hotel. After the DMZ visit, we had a very nice lunch at a well known restaurant. This time could of have been a good opportunity to say good bye but I think due to limited time, food came out late, we didn't linger.
Our tour guide Tommy Lee was awesome—highly recommended!!

Very nice tour and a good introduction to the Korean culture. Our guide/driver Jay was great, very attentive and well organised. By Western standards he should however refrain to use his cellphone when driving.
Tour guide Jay accommodated everyone's needs. Restaurant choices and food variety excellent.

How wonderful it was. Everything to the last detail. Every day a different hotel but hotels where you have everything , good beds fine showers and some with bath. Beautiful views. shampoo conditioner soap is there too. Breakfast lunch and dinners included , plenty of choice. Drinks also well provided. Our tour leader Mark is a great person. Tells great stories. Speaks reasonably good English. Because everything is planned there is little time in between but in the end that is what a tour is for and understandable because you go through all of Korea. The spa day was not appropriate, or you ran out of time for the relaxation moment where you had 2 hours or instead of shopping has no more value for me because this is a very expensive mall. The bus we rode in was very comfortable (Cool and provided with water which was made sure there was enough every day) and the bus driver makes sure you are transported safely. He also stopped occasionally for a pee moment or to grab another refreshment or coffee. The only thing I recommend is to be there at least 2 days before the tour starts, due to time difference. But also the time after. Then you can still enjoy your own moment and you can also see Seoul. At your own pace. Further is that I enjoyed a beautiful South Korea. And made a beautiful memory together with my daughter.
Our tour guide Mark was exceptional. great driver Mr Park. Food was amazing. Hotels were great.

Fantastic introduction to Korean food and culture. This trip had a great mix of walking, eating and chillin. If you’re an expert in Korean food, this may not be the best tour since it’s an intro with slightly more western tastes in mind, but we did try exotic things like murder hornet soju! Haha everything was good and the group was awesome. Everyone got along well, and the guide Michelle made the tour go very smoothly. Some days were >20k steps so def being comfortable walking shoes. One thing to remember is that the dmz visit is not a part of the tour, and in general the dmz is not available on Mondays… so if adding on, you’d have to stay until Tuesday or do it Sunday before tour starts.
I have way to many positive things to mention about this trip. First of all Jacob our tour guide went beyond being an amazing leader. The first few days by myself in in Seoul were overwhelming but having Jacob who knew what he was doing in the city made it feel like our group was part of the city, and we felt safe and comfortable walking the streets Jacob's amount of knowledge about the food , history and hidden gems made the days fly by. All accommodations and restaurants were fantastic. I absolutely recommend this tour. The only problem with the tour was that it ended too early. Because of this tour I am absolutely coming back to South Korea and hope Jacob can be my tour guide. Thanks for an amazing trip.

Very enriching experience! Food and accommodation conditions could be improved. It is very intensive and it could be better to stay 2 nights in one hotel not one night per hotel. The guides in Japan were great, warm and very helpful!
Great tour. Comfortable transport and everything easily explained

Juhyun was the best guide on this tour, she is very kind and actually all the staff are very warm and help you with everything
It has been a very pleasant tour. Every day we lived a new experience and, thanks to our guide, we were able to visit each place marked on the itinerary and we learned the history of each of the points to visit. Wonderful experience.

The only problem was getting food in the evening from some of the towns and hotels because they were either closing for the night or the hotels didn’t serve after 8 or 9 pm. So maybe knowing this the tour guide can arrange for something earlier. Otherwise the tour guide and driver were wonderful.
The tour on the whole was good. The only hotel I would change is the Koreana. Firstly their staff know very little English and they are very unfriendly and not helpful at all. Also this hotel is situated right where most of the protest rallys occur so all roads leading to it especially on the weekends are closed. The hotel staff make no effort to help their guests check in or check out. Even though our room was available 2 hours before check in time they wanted to charge us an additional fee to check in early after we had an awful time trying to get to their hotel with all the roads closed because of the protest rally.Even on the day our tour started the tour guide could not meet us at the designated spot because the roads were closed due to the protests. The guide got to us about 25 minutes later than what was agreed.

Dear TourRadar, Im back home from a wonderful tour experience booked via your site. The KShuttle agency was just arranged perfectly. We enjoyed everything from booking, pickup, hotels, the comfy bus and all the beautiful cities we went exploring. We met such nice fellow travellers and our guide Andy was really kind with good English. The bus driver was also very nice and polite. We loved it so much and already started thinking of our next trip to South America in 25/26. We would recommend your services for sure. Thanks
Most of this tour’s destination were just ok, only 2 locations were better and the duration of stay per location can use some improvements. For example, they gave us over 2 hours at one temple and not enough time at the national park. Most of our lunch times were pressed short, everything is in Korean so we have to google translate after waiting in lines after we find which place we want to order from. And it went on like that throughout our week. I read the itinerary when I signed up but their details were not very clear. We take at least 1 multi day tour if not more during our vacations and this tour did not compare at all. After this tour ended, we had a few extra days left and trained back to Busan, bought a day tour in Busan and it had so much more to see. The good parts of this tour was that we got to visit all the different villages and learned some of their history.

Not organized, needs to know where to go and where to stay (hotel name or adress so we can planes to explore the city
great overview of Korea, guide was knowledgable and friendly, value for money as many delicious and authentic meals were included. Hotels were modern and comfortable. My only complaint was the hotel in Seoul was not as well located as it could have been a bit far from the main sites. However for the price this was an extremely good value tour and I enjoyed it very much and would have no hesitation in recommending it.

Odynovo

  • Excellent - 341 reviews for South Korea tours
We just finished our amazing 9-day private tour "From Seoul to Jeju Island" arranged by Odynovo, and it was truly a wonderful experience! Huge thanks to Odynovo for this unforgettable journey. Before the trip, we worked with travel expert xxx, who customized the itinerary for us. His responses were incredibly prompt, providing professional support and answers throughout. He adjusted the plan according to our needs, saving us a lot of time and money in the process. The hotels were very comfortable, clean, and well-equipped. Especially the hotel in Jeju Island with a stunning sea view. The transportation, vehicles, drivers, and guides were also excellent. The vehicles were clean and comfortable, the drivers were friendly and highly skilled, making us feel very safe. Our guide was knowledgeable and provided in-depth information about the history and culture of each place we visited. The entire tour was very affordable, especially considering the high-quality, personalized service we received. Many of the attractions were truly worth it, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace in Seoul and Seongsan Ilchulbong on Jeju Island. Each location left us in awe. Haedong Yonggungsa Temple in Busan was particularly breathtaking with its stunning coastal views. We also enjoyed a variety of delicious local foods, especially the traditional snacks at Gwangjang Market. One highlight was watching the mask dance performance at Hahoe Folk Village in Andong, which was an enriching cultural experience. Overall, this trip not only allowed us to see the beautiful sights and culture of South Korea but also experience Odynovo's professional and attentive service. We highly recommend this tour to anyone looking to explore South Korea!
When it comes to travel, we all know there’s so many different options, tho we were so lucky to come across Odynovo, it was the BEST choice as we were planning a Japan & South Korea Tour Lynn, Senior advisor at Odynovo was always super helpful and profesional providing the best itinerary options for our needs, giving different alternatives and giving details on each one so we could make the best out of our trip, she really delivered personalised service to fit our preferences as customers Everything worked perfectly from day 1 an until last day, from airport pick up, to hotels & tours, with very helpful drivers and also tour guides, everything was on time and wonderful As for the tour guides, in Tokyo we had Lyn who was great, super knowledgeable about the tours topics and also very helpful overall, even taking great pictures And for Seoul, we also had an amazing tour guide: Jones, who was the BEST !, he was very patient explaining all, super flexible if we had a request and super helpful, he truly was AMAZING ! He would always make sure we were ok and enjoying the tour ! So in summary, we had an unforgettable trip to both Tokyo & Seoul and if we travel in the future, I will definitely use Odynovo again ! Thank you !

It was great. Guide took us to number and variety of local Korean restaurants. They took us to many historical places and many temples and National parks. We felt that we were truly immersed in Korean History and came away with a much better understanding of that history.
The whole trip was extremely well organised from start to finish. Could not fault anything with regards to the guides we had, cars were very comfortable and clean. Hotel standard and location in Seoul was great. The hotel in Jeju was in a great location as well but the interior was a bit dated to be rated as a four star accommodation. The guides were great in introducing us to different foods of the regions and we classified this trip as a sightseeing and culinary tour. We would highly recommend anyone to do this private tour for two.
