Met Life Stadium? Holy crap considering that would make them the 1st girl group to perform there and Im pretty sure 2nd artist since BTS and mind you its BIGGER than freakin Madison Square Garden by over SIXTY THOUSAND seats O___O!!!

Hopefully, I can get tickets since with this year being their 8th year anniversary I think the girls have built a solid discography with nothing but back to backs hits for the set list.

Lee HyoRi & The 2000s Makeup Trend - How "Lee HyoRi's Red Carpet", BLACKPINK's Jennie & TWICE Started The Hottest K-Beauty Trend Of The Season

Icon and it girl Lee HyoRi is back to dominating the K-Pop world and this time, her 2000s makeup is coming with her!

Maison Kitsuné / Lee HyoRi's Instagram / NaYeon's Instagram

It doesn't take a trend analyst to figure out that the hot new thing in K-Beauty land is actually a throwback to Y2K, and it's taking over the world. We're talking about Lee HyoRi and the 2000s makeup trend, inspired by the original It Girl of Korea, that is now making rounds as the latest bandwagon everyone wants to hop on.

Y2K has been at the core of virality for quite a while now, influencing not only fashion and makeup but also art, music, television, and culture, as a whole. However, a lot of this Y2K-inspired buzz has been an "upgrade" on actual Y2K styles, an homage, if you will. However, not much of the authenticity of Y2K was revived.

Readers who were around during the actual Y2K would agree that while Y2K fashion now is the epitome of trendiness and more in vogue than ever, real Y2K fashion and makeup weren't quite the same.

That is until we decided to bring back Lee HyoRi's iconic look from her music video for '10 Minutes'.

For those who might not know, Lee HyoRi is one of the most prestigious, beloved, and respected artists to ever come out of the K-Pop industry. From debuting in one of the hottest girl groups of her time, Fin.K.L , to going solo and bring crowned as the icon of sensuality, Lee HyoRi is essentially the OG "it girl" of Korea, influencing an entire generation then and now.

The year 2003, when HyoRi released her debut solo studio album "Stylish...E" was dubbed "The Year Of HyoRi", and "HyoRi Syndrome" spread all over South Korea. '10 Minutes' was one of the tracks on this album, and almost two decades later, it is going mega-viral worldwide.

How and why did this happen? Let's find out!

Lee HyoRi's Sustained Popularity Rises Globally With "Lee Hyori's Red Carpet"

Lee HyoRi & The 2000s Makeup Trend - How "Lee HyoRi's Red Carpet", BLACKPINK's Jennie & TWICE Started The Hottest K-Beauty Trend Of The Season

Lee HyoRi is one of those artists whose popularity has remained unbeatable regardless of promotional activities across decades. Her most recent activities include the healing TV show "HyoRi's Homestay" and, musically, the project groups SSAK3 and Refund Sisters . Her influence remained just as impactful in this time as it was when she first shook the Korean entertainment scene but she was recognized as a legend and a veteran in the industry rather than going viral with sudden spouts of immense popularity.

However, when Lee HyoRi came in as the host of "The Seasons" - Korea's beloved late-night music talk show, creating "The Seasons: Lee Hyori's Red Carpet", her interactions with her guests started enjoying the aforementioned taste of virality and what's better than a viral moment on social media to introduce something/someone to a whole new audience?

In particular, the episode starring guest BLACKPINK's Jennie , the 3rd generation "it girl" of Korea, alongside host Lee HyoRi, the 1st generation "it girl", sparked renewed interest in the show, propelling it to global popularity and drawing attention from a whole new generation of fans. Thus, netizens who may not have known this queen before, came face to face with the icon herself.

Lee HyoRi & The 2000s Makeup Trend - How "Lee HyoRi's Red Carpet", BLACKPINK's Jennie & TWICE Started The Hottest K-Beauty Trend Of The Season

According to Google Trends, global interest in Lee HyoRi in the past 12 months, reached a peak between January 7 to 13, 2024. The episode with Jennie was released on January 5, 2024. The most-searched terms during this time were "10 Minutes - Song by Lee HyoRi", "The Seasons: Lee Hyo-ri's Red Carpet", "The Seasons", "Lee HyoRi Red Carpet", "Lee HyoRi The Seasons", "The Seasons", "Miss Korea - Song by Lee HyoRi", and "Lee HyoRi makeup".

"Miss Korea" is one of the most remarkable Lee HyoRi songs, covered by BLACKPINK's Jennie on "The Seasons: Lee HyoRi's Red Carpet". This cover, released by KOCOWA TV, is now at 2M views on YouTube, proving its popularity.

Lee HyoRi's popularity kept rising steadily, with the graph showing an upward curve, which next peaked on April 10, 2024 - quite literally, yesterday! This means that the trend is still going, constantly gaining new impetus.

This peak, however, is because the "Lee HyoRi" makeup trend is currently at its highest virality, reaching more people than ever before. However, there was something else that aided this phenomenon - TWICE.

TWICE Cover Lee HyoRi's '10 Minutes'

On October 21, 2023, TWICE's NaYeon , JiHyo , and Momo covered Lee HyoRi's '10 Minutes' at their fan meeting. A fancam of this cover by user "나연이랑" was uploaded to YouTube the day after and now stands at 1 million views. Of course, the internet went crazy over how impeccable, alluring, and flawless this cover was, with NaYeon, JiHyo, and Momo setting the stage on fire. However, it was an edit of NaYeon from this performance that started the viral trend.

Despite the performance happening last year, it was only in March 2024 that it started picking up hotter momentum, not just among ONCE or K-Pop fans but among the general public all over the world.

Lee HyoRi & The 2000s Makeup Trend - How "Lee HyoRi's Red Carpet", BLACKPINK's Jennie & TWICE Started The Hottest K-Beauty Trend Of The Season

According to Google Trends, it was on April 9 that google searches for TWICE's cover of '10 Minutes' peaked, right around the time when Lee HyoRi was trending globally.

The audio for Lee HyoRi's '10 Minutes' on TikTok exploded in popularity, with 100.4K posts as of April 9, 2024. The original video with this sound was the NaYeon edit, which went viral. At the same time, '10 Minutes' started trending on Instagram, with 18.2K reels at the time of writing. Now, this trend is slowly permeating YouTube as well.

Lee HyoRi's 2000s Makeup Trend

Beauty influencers did what beauty influencers do and gave us one of the best makeup trends inspired by the viral '10 Minutes'. As more and more people watched the original music video and stage performance of '10 Minutes', a makeup trend was born. Lee HyoRi was one of the first artists to bring this makeup style to K-Pop back in 2003, where it was then adopted by top artists like S.E.S members Bada and Eugene . It is no surprise, therefore, that 21 years later, it still has the same trailblazing impact as it did then. Falling perfectly in line with the current craze for Y2K, this trend found the perfect environment to grow and go viral.

Lee HyoRi & The 2000s Makeup Trend - How "Lee HyoRi's Red Carpet", BLACKPINK's Jennie & TWICE Started The Hottest K-Beauty Trend Of The Season

Unsurprisingly, global interest in "Lee HyoRi makeup" over the past 30 days also peaked around April 9. On social media platforms like X, mentions about Lee HyoRi and Lee HyoRi's makeup increased a whopping 157.143%!

We pulled and analyzed thousands of posts from all over the internet and ran a sentiment analysis, which revealed an overwhelmingly positive opinion on Lee HyoRi in the last 14 days, while her reach peaked on April 10. In conclusion, Lee HyoRi and, in turn, the Lee HyoRi 2000s makeup trend is at its highest point at this very moment.

TWICE announces more dates for ‘READY TO BE World Tour’

JL Bonifacio

TWICE, 'READY TO BE World Tour'

K-pop sensation TWICE has sent their fans, known as ONCE, into a frenzy by announcing an additional date for their highly anticipated ‘READY TO BE World Tour.'

The tour, initially slated to kick off in Seoul on October 10, 2023, was met with an overwhelming response, with tickets selling out almost instantly. In response to the massive demand, TWICE's management team decided to add another date to ensure that as many fans as possible can witness their spectacular show.

The newly added date will see TWICE perform in additional city in South America, specifically São Paulo, at Allianz Parque. The tour's expansion not only caters to their global fanbase but also underscores TWICE's commitment to bringing their music and energy to fans worldwide.

JYP Entertainment has been adding more and more dates in various cities worldwide following their initial announcement on February 21, 2023. The tours began with teasers on the world tour's “Part 1” that involved South Korea, Australia, Japan and cities across North America. And due to the initial show on February 6 being sold out in South America, a new performance will take place on February 7 in the same venue.

Thanks to this world tour, TWICE has become the only female K-Pop group to headline in MLB and NFL stadium and the first to play the East Rutheford's MetLife Stadium, Dallas' Globe Life Field, Atlanta's Truist Park, and Los Angeles' SoFi Stadium during the K-Pop's “Part 1” of the tour.

ONCE members and K-pop enthusiasts are urged to stay tuned for ticket sales announcements and further updates on the tour's schedule. TWICE's ‘READY TO BE World Tour' is shaping up to be a monumental event in the world of K-pop, and fans can hardly wait to see what the group has in store for them as they take their music around the world.

JL was five years old when he discovered Uncle Ben's timeless advice to Peter Parker: "With great power comes great responsibility." This early exposure instilled in him a profound understanding of what it truly means to be a writer—as well as a love of comics and related media, including all things Star Wars. JL now brings that to ClutchPoints' Entertainment team.

TWICE on the Power of Sticking Together

By Kristine Kwak

Kristine Kwak

Since debuting in 2015, TWICE have been going strong as a nine-member group with a bond like no other, which is a feat in itself. We first met in Korea during the pandemic, right before the release of their EP Taste of Love . Since then, TWICE have skyrocketed: They have released bop after bop , and while they’ve always been a force in Asia, these past few years have shown their ability to break through overseas. Along the way, their sound expanded from bubblegum pop into other genres like R&B and house, and they’ve constantly transformed their image. They’ve been on tour for what feels like forever, and each tour stop is bigger and better. In June of last year, TWICE became the first female K-pop group to play SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, and of course, sold it out.

Editor’s picks

Every awful thing trump has promised to do in a second term, the 250 greatest guitarists of all time, the 500 greatest albums of all time, the 50 worst decisions in movie history.

It’s been two years since we last spoke in Anseong to chat “Alcohol-Free,” and so much has happened since then, but I want to start with the world tour! I was at the L.A. show back in February 2022 and also at your first U.S. stadium show in May — since then, you’ve been busy continuing to tour, with bigger venues each time. What has that been like?

Nayeon : Just going on tour to so many places brings us happiness and was such a good opportunity for us. To go back to cities we’ve been to but to perform at larger venues with more fans is so meaningful.

Are there any fun memories from the Ready to Be tour last year that really stuck out to you?

Dahyun: The Ready to Be tour was special in that we were able to go to countries we haven’t been to, and it was great to see all of the ONCEs there as well. Personally, I really wanted to see the Eiffel Tower during our Europe leg, so I loved that I was able to go and take a lot of photos. And we’re going to South America soon — I think the reaction and atmosphere there is going to be full of passion, so I’m looking forward to that.

Momo : With this concert, for the first time, we’re doing solo stages too, and each time we do our solo performances, the reaction is so great. It’s definitely a highlight from this tour.

Jihyo : And we also had a live band! Working with a live band was also a new challenge.

TWICE Score First Number One Album in U.S. With ‘With YOU-th’

How to get tickets to twice's 'ready to be (once more)' show in las vegas, twice transform 'fallon' stage with stadium-ready 'set me free' performance.

Momo: I went on a short trip to Phuket, Thailand, with my family. I had such a great time, and I felt so well-rested.

Jeongyeon: Jihyo and I went on a trip with both of our parents, and I was the tour guide. We went on a luxurious trip [ laughs ].

TWICE have been so active with short-form video these days — how do you decide which trends to hop on?

Jihyo: I’ve become quite the short-form fairy these days [ laughs ]. I tend to look through on my own a lot, but I don’t know the trends that well, so I ask our team for ideas, or if I see something I want to try, I might just try it out. It depends. If I see something fun, I send it to our members and ask them to do it with me.

Is there a recent one that you particularly liked?

Jihyo: I recently went on a Korean variety show called I Live Alone — I did one with my friends while wearing hanbok . I think Sana liked that one.

Sana: I liked seeing Jihyo’s excited facial expressions that showed how well she was spending her time off [ laughs ].

So by the time you’re in Vegas for your show at Allegiant Stadium, the new music’s going to be out! Can we look forward to seeing some performances of the new songs?

Momo: Yes.… [ laughs ]

Nayeon: Since the music will be out by then, I think the fans can look forward to the first performances of the songs.

At the time of this interview, we’re just a week from the release of “I GOT YOU.” The teasers, concept photos, etc., are all out — how do you anticipate fans ’ reactions to the song?

Jihyo: We actually had a chance to see the full music video for “I GOT YOU,” and it shows our relationships with one another. I think the fans will really like that aspect of the video. I’m looking forward to their reactions, too.

And you’ve recorded a few songs in English now. I imagine it gets a little easier each time, but what are some of the things you try to pay extra attention to when it comes to recording in English? I saw the Opening Trailer , which was in English, too.

Jihyo: What do you guys think?

Jihyo: We’re not really strong at English.

Momo: And since each song has different lyrics, it remains challenging each time.

Nayeon: Especially if it’s to a fast beat.

Tzuyu: But interestingly the members have told me that the English version sometimes comes out better than the Korean one!

How would you describe the new album, With YOU-th ? Some of the images that have come out so far were reminiscent of your “Feel Special” era, looking at them as a third party.

Nayeon: It’s our 13th mini album, and focuses on how we’re spending our youth with you.

Jihyo: The vibe might be there, but I think the message is a little bit different. Around “Feel Special,” we were going through some hard times and that track in particular was more about how we were able to persevere through all of that. I think this album focuses on our current state of how happy we are in the moment, after everything we’ve been through. I think it also shows our growth and improvement over time.

What are some of the members’ favorite tracks from the album?

Nayeon: Mine is “I GOT YOU.”

Momo: Me too.

Nayeon: I think with “I GOT YOU,” even after we were done with production, it’s a song that I’m still listening to on my own.

Mina: I like “BLOOM.” It has a pretty melody and makes me feel like spring is fast approaching.

Jeongyeon: I like “NEW NEW.”

Sana: You too, right, Tzuyu?

Tzuyu: Yes. I like “NEW NEW.”

Jeongyeon: It has a bright energy that almost makes it sound like a song that we would have put out in our earlier days, with a vibrant TWICE-like energy. But since we’ve grown and our voices have changed, it has a slightly different tone, so I like that.

What about lyrics-wise?

Jihyo: Three of our members participated in writing this time around. Those three members should share their favorite lines!

Chaeyoung: Someone actually was talking about how my lyric was cute! I wrote “RUSH,” and in the hook of that song, the lyric says, “I need you obliviously,” and the members all really liked that. They told me it was cute, so I feel proud.

Dahyun: In “YOU GET ME,” the song has a connection with “I GOT YOU,” and the lyric says “Come run to me and hold me tight immediately,” and it fits well with the drum, beat, and bass, so I personally like how that came out. And there’s a part that we all sing “You already know!” and because it has the meaning of understanding one another without having to explicitly say something, I really like it.

Can you share anything from the production process of the new album that stood out to you?

Sana: With “ONE SPARK,” we actually had recorded this song a while ago with assigned parts. And this time around, the lyrics changed a little and the division of parts also shifted along with that, with a rerecording, to finalize the song. I think we all wanted it to be even better, so we had separate meetings about the new version, so the rerecordings and meetings stood out to me.

Jihyo: There’s a song called “BLOOM” that Jeongyeon wrote, actually. That song came up in meetings when I was preparing for my solo album a while back. It was going to be a side track on my solo album, but I was having a hard time bringing it to life with my voice, so we ended up moving forward with another track, but funnily enough, the part that I was having a hard time with became my part this time around [ laughs ]. So I worked really hard to record it!

It’s been so long since we’ve connected, and even aside from all of the shows you’ve put on, Nayeon, Jihyo, you had your solo promotions, and of course the MiSaMo (Mina, Sana, Momo) sub-unit was a success, too. How was that?

Jihyo: Nayeon, you’re my senior when it comes to being solo! When I was preparing for my solo release, I wanted to participate in production as much as possible. Trying to fit that in with TWICE’s group schedules was challenging, but I’m proud of how it all went.

From an outside perspective, it really does feel like you’ve been touring forever! What are you most looking forward to once this tour wraps?

Sana: I want to put my carry-on luggage away. I keep having to take something out once and just putting it back in — we’re always packing and unpacking. I’m really looking forward to that, right everyone?

And I wanted to check in on some of the things we discussed back in 2021. Jihyo, you mentioned wanting to surf, and, Sana, you mentioned picking up horseback riding despite your allergies. How has that been going?

Sana: Yes, I actually did once!

Jihyo: Really?

Sana: Last year during our break, I did it once in Japan and wanted to continue. But then didn’t do it for a whole year again after that [ laughs ].

Jihyo: Last fall or winter, I went with Jeongyeon to surf at sunrise. But it was freezing, and I thought to myself, “Never again!” and I quit [ laughs ].

Since it’s still early in the year, what do you want to try for in 2024?

Nayeon: I have one. I totally have one. I want to become the best driver [ laughs ].

Momo: I’ll look forward to it!

Nayeon: I want to master driving this year.

Jihyo: I’m really looking forward to that.

Jeongyeon: I have one, too. I want to get a license for operating larger vehicles. [Editor’s note: Korea has separate licenses for trucks, trailers, etc.] For camping. And I want to try operating a forklift [ laughs ].

Sana: For a future career opportunity.

Jeongyeon: I want to learn a trade. For my future.

I’m sure you won’t need to!

[ Laughs .]

Anyone else?

Chaeyoung: I want to become better at guitar.

Nayeon: Don’t lie! [ laughs ]

Chaeyoung: I’m taking lessons. I had two lessons during this break [ laughs ].

Sana: That’s a lot!

Chaeyoung: I want to work hard at it.

Jihyo: Tzuyu, what about you?

Tzuyu: I want to get my driver’s license, too.

Chaeyoung: Should we go together?

Tzuyu: I want to get better at English, too.

Usher Is 'Just as Disappointed as You Are' About the Cancellation of Lovers & Friends in Las Vegas

Trending on billboard.

The Billboard 200 chart ranks the most popular albums of the week in the U.S. based on multi-metric consumption as measured in equivalent album units, compiled by Luminate. Units comprise album sales, track equivalent albums (TEA) and streaming equivalent albums (SEA). Each unit equals one album sale, or 10 individual tracks sold from an album, or 3,750 ad-supported or 1,250 paid/subscription on-demand official audio and video streams generated by songs from an album. The new March 9-dated chart will be posted in full on  Billboard ‘s website on March 5. For all chart news, follow @billboard and @billboardcharts on both X, formerly known as Twitter, and Instagram.

As With YOU-th is mostly in the Korean language, it is the 24th mostly non-English language album to hit No. 1, and the first of 2024.

Morgan Wallen’ s chart-topping One Thing at a Time climbs 3-2 with 67,000 equivalent album units earned (up 5%), while Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Ty Dolla $ign ’s Vultures 1 falls 1-3 in its third week with 64,000 (down 14%). Noah Kahan ’s Stick Season is a non-mover at No. 4 with 57,000 units (down 4%), SZA ’s former leader SOS is also stationary, at No. 5, with 47,000 (up 1%), Drake ’s chart-topping For All the Dogs rises 8-6 with 43,000 (up 1%), and Taylor Swift ’s former No. 1 1989 (Taylor’s Version) dips 6-7 with 41,000 (down 7%).

LE SSERAFIM ’s Easy starts at No. 8 with 41,000 equivalent album units earned, marking the second top 10-charting effort for the Korean pop group. The act previously hit the top 10 with last year’s Unforgiven , debuting and peaking at No. 6. Of Easy ’s 41,000 first-week units, album sales comprise 34,000, SEA units comprise 7,000 (equaling 9.86 million official on-demand streams of the set’s five songs) and TEA units equal a negligible sum. Sales of Easy were aided by its availability across 14 CD variants (including exclusives for Barnes & Noble, Target and Walmart, all with branded paper merch inside their packages, including some randomized).

With LE SSERAFIM and TWICE in the top 10 together, it’s the first time two all-female Korean pop groups have been in the top 10 at the same time. Further, the last time any two all-female groups shared space in the top 10 was on the Aug. 5, 2006-dated chart, when American country trio The Chicks were at No. 9 with Taking the Long Way , while American pop group Pussycat Dolls were No. 10 with PCD .
