Good grief. I had a dream just last night about someone doing a Transformers version of a ferengi ship.

Huh...this reminds me a little bit of the Star Trek Fact Files, also from the UK. Might have to try to get these. And just 'cause it's in the UK doesn't necessarily mean they won't sell to folks in other countries. Site looks wonky on FireFox, though, and the JavaScript links seem to be broken (why are they using JavaScript for links?)

I like the side-by-side comparisan of the CGI NX and their model - and the color of their model is *completely* different! However...the *detal* on the model is pretty amazing!

Since this isn't really suited to Treknology, I'm going to move it over to General Trek Discussion instead. Looks interesting though.

Hey Darth! Haha, yes I moved from Toronto to Ottawa a couple years ago, and Robert is a godsend (owner of Leisure Park). I use him almost exclusively for Eaglemoss, outside of stuff he can't order. Also being in Ottawa he will do free delivery to my house right now so I don't even have to move my butt. I just need #164, 165, & 180 to finish the standard collection, along with shuttle set #7 (Robert had it but I missed it so I have to wait until he gets more in stock). Let's hope Eaglemoss gets the site back up. I want a few exclusives, but since they are down I put my money to other things so they missed out for the near future.

Anyone know if they are redoing the JJ Enterprise in the smaller scale to go with the new JJ ships?

I recently received the Nebula-class XL U.S.S. Bonchune. I think this ship is based on the CGI ship which has the Galaxy-class secondary hull. However, the pics from the mag show both the Phoenix, Sutherland, and the official model w/the proper hull/navigation deflector design. Wish EM went with the original model design w/the weapons pod. Maybe one day a proper XL U.S.S. Phoenix w/the AWAC dish.

Finally got the Eaglemoss ST Starships #164 and #165 from the US online store! Jumped on those as soon as they went back in stock. The US site even had an online sale this week where 164 and 165 were on sale for half price!!!! I was going to place a second order and try to cancel my first order but they sold out quickly. I don't care paying full price. Filling the missing gaps in my collection after well over a year of waiting is worth the money to me.

Here's one from the deep vaults that washed ashore: a die-cast metal Refit that came with a 2006 Japanese dvd box set, in a limited edition of 5000. Pics are too low rez to read the box deets, so I dunno who made it for Paramount JP or which metals were used. In the first solicits, they used a TOSserprise pic as a stand-in, btw. It's the first time I've ever seen the actual model, and it kinda reminds me of QMx's metal stuff, quite good. Anybody seen it before? For those of you that have the Titan version of USS Discovery, how well is it scaled with HW / MM ships? Likewise, does anyone have a comparison shot? I couldn't find one in the thread or on google, I only spotted some side shots, which makes the saucer appear too thick to be accurate, but there isn't another roughly MM scaled version that I'm aware of...

Oooo, the title sequence from Star Trek Prodigy has dropped, and it is very pretty! https://twitter.com/i/web/status/1432776902738055173 The Protostar is a cool looking ship, and it seems to have some kind of funky new propulsion system. Is that quantum slipstream, or something else entirely?

Any news on possible new ships for Star Trek Attack Wing in 2022 ? I've been able to get a lot of ships in the past months, with a couple of them still eluding me, but I'd love ships from the later shows such as Discovery or Picard. Given Wizkids got a few faction packs out that seem to sell quite well, it would be a nice evolution.

Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection

6" die-cast replicas of 70 different Trek vessels crossing all the series and movies. Delivered to your door two per month along with a special magazine dedicated to each particular model. http://www.startrek-starships.com/usa/index.asp What do you guys think?

$40 a month for 2 ships is a bit steep

star trek starships collection forum

You also get a magazine with each.

The models look decent. The stands look a bit distracting. I don't have the room for all of them. I don't have room for all the models I need to build! They're all pretty close in size, which means they may be wildly off in scale. Would that be irritating? I don't know. If I had the room and could justify the cost, it might make a neat display. But I'll pass, even knowing that I can cancel.

I've gotten a couple of the Batmobiles Eaglemoss has produced, and they're very nice. I won't be getting them all though, since many are just duplicates from when I bought the Corgi-made Batmobiles a few years back (and some of them were done better by Corgi). None of them have any features, like opening doors or spring loaded hatches. The comic store I got the Batmobiles from charges $25. It's a bit pricey compared to the Corgi and Hotwheels Batmobiles, but it comes with a "magazine" and it's own display case, and I don't have to buy a subscription! I'm sure I'll get a few of the Star Trek ships, if they're available. I like the USS Grissom, that ship probably won't be too hard to get. I'm sure that like the Batmobiles they will be featureless, but they will come with a stand and a display case. Oh yeah, and the magazine. As for the price, it's only $20 if you subscribe. At $20 each for 65 ships the total comes to $1300 (at a minimum). Can't swing that kind of money right now.

They look realy nice. I hope stores carry them.

They look decent but I'm not sure that I buy their claims that they exhaustingly researched them and that they'll basically be totally accurate when I can spot SEVERAL inaccuracies at a glance. At ten, MAYBE fifteen bones each, I MIGHT bite but at twenty, I think I'll pass.

"Members of STAR TREK’s original VFX team have provided the original CG models used on the TV shows and movies, allowing the sculptors to achieve an unparalleled degree of detail. In addition to this for the older ships that were created before CG was available CBS Studios have opened up the vaults to allow access to photography of the original studio models." How were photos obtained of old studio models via CBS, when those models were auctioned off several years ago?

Well, the way I read that is that they were allowed access to photos of the original studio model that they had in their vault--not the models themselves.

The photography from the vaults is what was accessed.

The Official Starships Collection Ships For Summer

  • Merchandise

star trek starships collection forum

Several ships will be released this summer from Hero Collector . The ships include the USS Armstrong , an XL-sized USS Equinox , a Romulan Snakehead ship, and the USS Edison.

First seen in Star Trek (2009) , the USS Armstrong was “among the many Federation ships lured to Vulcan by the time-travelling Romulan Nero in the film. Armed with future technology, Nero destroyed not only the planet Vulcan, but the entire Starfleet task force – the Armstrong included.”

The USS Armstrong comes with a display stand and a magazine.

star trek starships collection forum

Next up is the USS Equinox , Captain Ransom’s ship as seen in Star Trek: Voyager . Here is the description of the ship: “A Nova-class starship stranded in the Delta Quadrant, the U.S.S. Equinox was in many ways a dark mirror to the U.S.S. Voyager . Where Janeway and her crew upheld the principles of Starfleet throughout their long journey home, the Equinox ‘s traumatized crew resorted to darker measures… This hand-painted XL model captures the Equinox in precise detail, just as it appeared in Star Trek: Voyager .”

Expect to see this ship and the following ships in August.

For fans of the Romulans, the Romulan Snakehead will also been released. Here is a description of that ship: “A nimble, warp-capable Romulan scout vessel, the Snakehead ‘s small size belied its formidable armaments and cloaking capabilities. The Romulan spy Narek flew this particular starship in pursuit of Picard and his comrades aboard the La Sirena, as they fled The Artifact in search of Coppelius.”

Finally, the USS Edison will also make its debut in August. It is “An updated vessel available to Starfleet players in Star Trek Online . The Edison -class Temporal Warship echoed the design of the U.S.S. Edison , destroyed by Klingons in the Battle of the Binary Stars one-hundred-and-fifty years ago. Equipped with cutting edge temporal instruments, the Edison’ s specialist scientific officers could manipulate temporal mechanics to cause subtle fluctuations in causality itself.”

Original USS Enterprise model from ‘Star Trek’ returned to creator’s son

The first model of the USS Enterprise, the starship that appeared in the opening credits of the original “Star Trek” television series, has been returned to Eugene Roddenberry Jr., the son of the creator of the series, decades after it went missing.

“After a long journey, she’s home,” Roddenberry wrote on social media Thursday.

For die-hard Trekkies, the model’s disappearance had become the subject of folklore, so an eBay listing last fall, with a starting bid of $1,000, didn’t go unnoticed.

“Red alert,” someone in an online costume and prop-making forum wrote, linking to the listing.

Roddenberry’s father, Gene Roddenberry, created the television series, which first aired in 1966 and ran for three seasons. It spawned numerous spinoffs, several films and a franchise that has included conventions and legions of devoted fans with an avid interest in memorabilia.

The seller of the model was bombarded with inquiries and quickly took the listing down.

The seller contacted Heritage Auctions to authenticate it, the auction house’s executive vice president, Joe Maddalena, said Saturday. As soon as the seller, who said he had found it in a storage unit, brought it to the auction house’s office in Beverly Hills, California, Maddalena said he knew it was real.

“That’s when I reached out to Rod to say, ‘We’ve got this. This is it,’ ” he said, adding that the model was being transferred to Roddenberry.

Roddenberry, who is known as Rod, said Saturday that he would restore the model and seek to have it displayed in a museum or other institution.

He said reclaiming the item had only piqued his interest in the circumstances about its disappearance.

“Whoever borrowed it or misplaced it or lost it, something happened somewhere,” he said. “Where’s it been?”

It was unclear how the model ended up in the storage unit and who had it before its discovery.

The original USS Enterprise, a 33-inch model, was mostly made of solid wood by Richard Datin, a model maker for the Howard Anderson Co., a special-effects company that created the opening credits for some of the 20th century’s biggest TV shows.

An enlarged 11-foot model was used in subsequent “Star Trek” television episodes, and is part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, where it was donated by Paramount Studios in 1974.

Roddenberry, who said he gave the seller a “reward” for its recovery but did not disclose the terms, assembled a group of “Star Trek” production veterans, model makers and restoration specialists in Beverly Hills to authenticate the find.

The group included a “Star Trek” art supervisor, Michael Okuda, and his wife, Denise, an artist on “Star Trek” television series and films, and Gary Kerr, a “Trek x-pert” who served as technical consultant for the Smithsonian during a 2016 restoration of the 11-foot model.

“We spent at least an hour photographing it, inspecting the paint, inspecting the dirt, looking under the base, the patina on the stem, the grain in the wood,” Roddenberry said.

“It was a unanimous ‘This is 100% the one,’ ” he said.

Gene Roddenberry, who died in 1991, kept the original model, which appeared in the show’s opening credits and pilot episode, on his desk.

Kerr compared the model to 1960s photos he had of the model on Roddenberry’s desk.

“The wood grain matched exactly, so that was it,” he said Saturday.

The model went missing after Roddenberry lent it to the makers of “Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” which was released in 1979, Maddalena said.

“This is a major discovery,” he said, likening the model to the ruby slippers from “The Wizard of Oz,” a prop stolen in 2005 and recovered by the FBI in 2018, and that Heritage Auctions is selling.

While the slippers represent hope, he said, the starship Enterprise model “represents dreams.”

“It’s a portal to what could be,” he said.

Original ‘Star Trek’ Enterprise Model Is Found After Being Missing for Decades

The 33-inch model surfaced on eBay after disappearing around 1979. An auction house is giving it to the son of Gene Roddenberry, the creator of “Star Trek.”

The first model of the U.S.S. Enterprise, the starship that appeared in the opening credits of the original “Star Trek” television series , has been returned to Eugene Roddenberry Jr., the son of the creator of the series, decades after it went missing.

“After a long journey, she’s home,” Mr. Roddenberry wrote on social media on Thursday.

For die-hard Trekkies, the model’s disappearance had become the subject of folklore, so an eBay listing last fall, with a starting bid of $1,000, didn’t go unnoticed.

“Red alert,” someone in an online costume and prop-making forum wrote, linking to the listing.

Mr.

The seller contacted Heritage Auctions to authenticate it, the auction house’s executive vice president, Joe Maddalena, said on Saturday. As soon as the seller, who said he had found it in a storage unit, brought it to the auction house’s office in Beverly Hills, Calif., Mr. Maddalena said he knew it was real.

“That’s when I reached out to Rod to say, ‘We’ve got this. This is it,’” he said, adding that the model was being transferred to Mr. Roddenberry.

Mr. Roddenberry, who is known as Rod, said on Saturday that he would restore the model and seek to have it displayed in a museum or other institution.

The original U.S.S. Enterprise, a 33-inch model, was mostly made of solid wood by Richard C. Datin, a model maker for the Howard Anderson Company, a special-effects company that created the opening credits for some of the 20th century’s biggest TV shows .

An enlarged 11-foot model was used in subsequent “Star Trek” television episodes, and is now part of the permanent collection of the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum , where it was donated by Paramount Studios in 1974.

Mr.

“We spent at least an hour photographing it, inspecting the paint, inspecting the dirt, looking under the base, the patina on the stem, the grain in the wood,” Mr. Roddenberry said.

“It was a unanimous ‘This is 100 percent the one,’” he said.

Gene Roddenberry, who died in 1991 , kept the original model, which appeared in the show’s opening credits and pilot episode, on his desk.

Mr. Kerr compared the model to 1960s photos he had of the model on Mr. Roddenberry’s desk.

“The wood grain matched exactly, so that was it,” he said on Saturday.

The model went missing after Mr. Roddenberry lent it to the makers of “Star Trek: The Motion Picture,” which was released in 1979, Mr. Maddalena said.

“This is a major discovery,” he said, likening the model to the ruby slippers from “The Wizard of Oz,” a prop that was stolen in 2005 and recovered by the F.B.I. in 2018, and that Heritage Auctions is selling.

While the slippers represent hope, he said, the starship Enterprise model “represents dreams.”

“It’s a portal to what could be,” he said.

Star Trek: Lower Decks The Official Starships Collection

  • View history

A sister publication of the Star Trek: The Official Starships Collection under the overall auspices of Project Manager Ben Robinson , it was authorized and licensed by Paramount Consumer Products (formerly ViacomCBS Consumer Products), and was originally slated to debut simultaneously in the UK and the US alike – though that intent came to naught as the Cerritos model was delayed by several months for the US – , and became marketed to a number of other countries as well. This collection was based on the animated Star Trek: Lower Decks television series.

No subscription had been offered by Eaglemoss for this collection, models were to be available to purchase from their webshop and select retailers. As usual by this time, a 16-page magazine, designed to fit within the box packaging, was slated to accompany the display models.

On 12 July 2022 , the just started collection came to a sudden and unexpected halt, when the company was forced to cease its business activities under the UK Insolvency Act – meaning a company is no longer able to pay off its debts. [18] Bankruptcy was declared on 5 August 2022 . [19] The remainder stock, which included already manufactured but still unreleased models, was eventually acquired by (new) Master Replicas , who started to resell individual issues on a piecemeal basis on their own revived website from April 2023 onward, until the left-over stock was depleted.

XL edition issues [ ]

Released three months before the Lower Decks Collection officially launched, this issue was in actuality an outing in the XL sub-collection of the originating Official Starships Collection and therefore not a formal part of the former. The accompanying magazine corresponded therefore with the standard 20-page magazine format of the originating partwork publication and not with the newly conceived format for the regular Lower Decks Collection . [5] Considering the subject matter though, this issue is for the sake of expedience considered part of this collection.

  • ↑ All scheduled, but cancelled Eaglemoss releases had already entered regular production when the company went bankrupt and commercial quantities in the 500/2000-copy range of the display model at least had actually been produced by the manufacturer in China before production had to cease. [1] [2] They were acquired from the administrators by (new) Master Replicas along with the regular remainder stock, and sold to the public after all through their webstore, starting in April 2023 with the XL edition of the USS Stargazer and the regular edition of the USS Vancouver from the main and Lower Decks collections respectively, [3] several of them selling out within a day. Third-party UK and Far Eastern eBay retailers who had managed to get their hands on a handful of these unreleased Eaglemoss issues previously – and selling them at hugely inflated prices – , had already reported that these previously unreleased models came without the magazine, they apparently not having entered the regular print-run yet by the time of the bankruptcy, [4] (X) a state of affairs confirmed later on by the ones marketed by Master Replicas. Master Replicas only included magazines if they had already been packaged with the model (which was for the previously released issues not always the case, explaining in the process the large stock of back issues), some of which in German, the only foreign language version (besides Japanese, which however fell under the auspices of DeAgostini) still being printed by the time Eaglemoss had gone bankrupt; an 100,000-copy magazine (back-)issue stock did exist at two printer-owned warehouses somewhere (possibly also holding magazines of the unreleased issues as well), but the printer refused to release them until debt owned by the bankrupt Eaglemoss was fulfilled in full. As the new formal (model) inventory owners, Master Replicas had entered into legal negotiations with the disgruntled printer and was able to resolve the issue in August 2023. [5] [6] [7] The sale of this magazine stock started on 26 December 2023. [8]

  • ↑ Of this model 1310 copies were produced before production had to cease due to the Eaglemoss bankruptcy. [11]
  • ↑ On his Twitter account, Robinson shared a tooled prototype model picture of the cancelled Yosemite issue. The model was gifted by Robinson to Lower Decks creator, Mike McMahan [12] in itself an implication that that particular model had not yet entered regular production, until Master Replicas proved otherwise on 1 June 2023 when they divulged having procured a substantial 2000-copy stock of already produced models. [13] They sold this stock on 1 September 2023. [14]
  • ↑ Previously, the Eaglemoss XL versions of the USS Discovery , USS Shenzhou and the Star Trek: Discovery version of the USS Enterprise received a similar treatment, and were not formally part of their own dedicated collection either, the other Star Trek: Discovery The Official Starships Collection sister publication.
  • ↑ While released, the model was only offered through the company's webstores, like the majority of the 2022 releases, including those from all other Eaglemoss collections to which customers had subscribed. This meant that relatively few 2022 models had reached their respective fanbases by the time of the Eaglemoss bankruptcy [15] – most of them having become accustomed to wait until the company fulfilled their subscription obligations – , resulting almost immediately afterwards in those being offered by aftermarket retailers starting to fetch runaway collector prices before (new) Master Replicas had entered the market, [16] because of the what Robert Meyer Burnett had called "mad dash" of collectors (of whom Burnett was one himself [17] ) trying in desperation to snatch up the few remaining 2022 issues still available in the aftermarket at that point in time. Still, after they had acquired the remainder stocks from the bankrupt company, (new) Master Replicas came to the rescue of the frustrated collector base in March 2023, when they started to resell items from the Eaglemoss model partwork lines at the last known normal retail price, which included the three 2022 unreleased issues from the Lower Decks Starships Collection .
