Todrick Hall Releases Setlist for Upcoming ‘Femuline’ Tour

Justin Jenkins

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Todrick Hall released the setlist for his upcoming Femuline tour. The singer took to Instagram to get his fans amped up for the new show. Femuline will kick-off on March 12 in Seattle, WA. The entertainer is surely ready to let loose after his stressful time on Season 3 of Celebrity Big Brother .

The promotional video has Hall’s setlist in the form of miss calls. The phone number that shows is a new way that celebrities market themselves to their fans. Joining a celebrity text list is how fans stay in the know about their favorite celebrities. Hall’s 301 number is sure to have news on discounted ticket rates and early access to tickets for added shows.

The list includes Halls hits such as “Rainin Fellas,” “Dripeesha,” and “Boys in the Ocean.” The Femuline tour is based off of Hall’s 2021 album of the same name. Songs from the Celebrity Big Brother alum’s Femuline Gaymeova will also be performed as well throughout the show.

Hall will perform close to 40 songs each night of his tour. With that many songs, his show will last over two hours. Some of the singer’s singles are shorter songs, so fans can expect to leave at a decent time. With the weather warming up I am sure partying all-night with the “Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels,’ singer will not be an issue.

Although Hall is extravagant, his shows are usually on a smaller intimate scale. Just a day ago he posted that his first day of rehearsal was successful.

Todrick Hall’s Life After ‘Celebrity Big Brother’

Hall was all smiles with his backup dancers as they rehearsed for the upcoming tour. Now with his focus on the music, he can put his Season 3 Celebrity Big Brother drama behind him.

Todrick Hall’s “Femuline Tour” Has A Rocky Start In Seattle

todrick hall femuline tour

Oh, honey…

It was a tad messy.

I’m talking about the opening night of entertainer “TODRICK HALL’s FEMULINE TOUR” at Seattle’s Moore Theatre this past Saturday night, March 12th. A pretty packed house of Todrick fans (“Toddlers” I believe they are called) came out to support their favorite gay singer/dancer/social media darling after a rather rocky past few weeks that found the 36 year old star in some hot water over his actions while competing on the latest edition of “Celebrity Big Brother” last month. Hall, a super fan of the Big Brother show, played a “hardball” game while in the house that involved trash talking other competitors that rubbed quite a few people the wrong way both in the Big Brother House and to the general public watching the show.

Hall was accused of body shaming a fellow contestant, Shanna Moakler and had a running feud with aging NSYNC boy bander Chris Kirkpatrick . Todrick’s aggressive game play managed to get him into the finals but he lost to martial artist Miesha Tate. After the series ended and faced with an outpouring of online harrassment over his performance, Hall went into a period of radio silence while preparing for his Femuline Tour.

He broke that silence on Saturday night but after some long delays. The show had a start time of 8pm and being a concert, it naturally didn’t start on time but…it stretched out to a wait that almost rivaled Madonna’s notoriously late start times for her last Madame X tour. A rather pathetic opening act did emerge at 8:30 to perform a short set…I never did hear a NAME for the lead singer who was backed by two male dancers but it was strictly B level karaoke at best and low energy at that. It was the kind of entertainment you’d expect in the smallest cabaret room on a rather cheap gay cruise.

It was also during this time that I was attacked by some oaf in the audience. Some middle aged queen kept bopping over to talk to the people sitting immediately in front of me. In order to get closer to them, he came into MY row of seats, which at that point was mostly empty, so he could lean over from behind to chat with them and as he did so, he stepped down HARD on my right foot which made me yell out in pain, “OW! YOU’RE STEPPING ON MY FOOT!!!” which he didn’t much respond to until I glared at him and he muttered a pathetic “sorry”. And, then he kept on chatting with them as he loomed over me and I noticed he DIDN’T have his mask pulled up over his mouth/nose and by this point I had enough of him and barked, “Did you PAY for that seat you’re standing by?” He muttered “no” and then I snapped, “Well, it’s time to move along and pull up your damn mask” and he got all testy to point out that he had paid for all these seats, indicating the row in front of us but he did pull up his mask.

Insert a “Bitch, please…” and eye roll into that conversation and you have it in a nutshell.

todrick hall femuline tour

So, back to the onstage drama…or lack of it. Another long wait had occurred during this time and then at about 9pm, a trio of “Street Team” promotion people took the stage to do a fun energetic dance routine that got the crowd excited for about 5 minutes. There was also an announcement and an apology for the delays…apparently there were “technical difficulties”. The street team then left the stage and we got another long wait until the main show actually started about 9:30pm.

And, despite the supposed technical issues, Hall has put together a fun, VERY energetic stage show that was very much enjoyed by his audience of loyal fans. It’s all frothy, modern, pop dance music and much of it from his latest album (not surprisingly named Femuline) but Hall knows how to put a show together. He wisely cast a terrific and diverse corps of 16 dancers to back him up and they were really the chief highlight of the show for me. Unlike many stars who will cast a rather homogenous back up team of fit dancers who all blend together in contrast to the star performer, the Femuline dancers represent a broad range of genders, sizes, ethnicities and personalites. For me, not being a specific “Toddler” fan, they were the highlight of the show with their energy and charm.

The numbers were good, but probably more so for the Toddlers familiar with the songs. Hall sang live during the show and the vocals were strong. There were references to various aspects of Hall’s career including his recent stint on the popular music competition show “The Masked Singer” where he wore a bull costume as his alter ego. Several of the dancers wore a similar costume in the second number. It was followed by a “Come to Church” number which featured Hall and some of the dancers in Gucci inspired nun habits.

And, while the Gucci nun costumes were cute, there were some other questionable costuming moments during the show including an overall issue with many of the costumes looking a bit cheap and thrown together at the last minute. During the opening number, I saw pieces of costumes fall off some of the dancers and one of the bigger male dancers had the back of his garment ripped open because a zipper had failed. And, surprisingly, most of Hall’s costumes weren’t particularly flattering on him, including a “Mean Girls” outfit that was really quite ugly and clumsy looking. Wasn’t there someone around who could have piped up to say, “uh, honey, that costume ain’t cute on you…” If not, then Todrick needs to find a new sassy best friend to Tell. Him. The. Truth. When. He. Needs. To. Hear. It.

But, the Gucci nuns were cute. Even though from a distance, they read more “Louis Vuitton” than Gucci.

As for the other technical issues, it really wasn’t that big of a deal that the backing screens weren’t functioning. Really, the production team should have cut their losses an hour earlier and just decided to start the show instead of fiddling about for so long hoping things would magically start working.

But, they probably sold more t-shirts while the audience waited for an hour and a half…

The show is two acts and…I didn’t stay for the second act. By the time the first act ended at about 10:30, I was tired and ready to go home and have some dinner.

Oh, and Todrick DID address his recent woes towards the end of the first act with a sad mea culpa about “mistakes I made” and the cruelty of social media for not allowing him to make mistakes and learn from them and then he sang a love song he wrote to himself and it was all quite sad and “please feel sorry for me” but the audience really loved it and the show stopped for a moment while they gave him the audience love/blow job he so badly needed and…

I knew it was time to go home and make me a boloney sandwich.

Who is this show for?

  • Hardcore fans of Mr. Hall, a hardworking stage performer who knows what buttons to push…most of the time.
  • Fans of great back-up dancers.
  • People who enjoy technical difficulties.
  • People who enjoy stepping on other people’s feet.
  • People who enjoy having their feet stepped on.
  • People who get free tickets to shows .

In the early 90s Grace Jones came through San José CA for an 8pm show. Finally she starts… AT ONE AM!!! And then is all flustered and insulting when she learns that in San José, the bars close at 2pm. Oh, and it was a standing only venue of a small nightclub.

Todrick Hall's Femuline Tour is Loud And Proud!

todrick hall femuline tour

Todrick Hall took the world by storm with his latest 2022 tour "The Femuline Tour"!

Starting with the tour name, "Femuline" is a term coined by Todrick that describes an individual who possesses both feminine and masculine qualities but doesn't necessarily associate with either one. We can all admit that, Femuline is Todrick Hall all day long and he himself agreed.

"My friend was over...and he was talking to me about his hashtag "Tomgirl" from one of his Instagram post...which I loved but still saying the word "girl" didn't feel like something that would necessarily fit my brand right now. So I decided to create a world that was combining feminine and masculine qualities, and I came up with the word Femuline," Hall told Pride Source .

todrick hall femuline tour

From his designer wardrobe to his impeccable vocals, fans all over the country got to experience the Femuline performance of a lifetime. Including our very own team here at Gay e Magazine!

Todrick Hall with Gaye Magazine's staff and Editor in Chief K. Keith

The superstar took every chance to count down the days with his fans until the big show, but he also expressed that it was the hardest few months of his life.

“This has been the hardest month and 1/2 of my life, but tonight my seventh world tour kicks off in Seattle," Todrick began in a caption on Instagram .

"Those of you who loved and supported me even when it wasn't easy. Your loyalty to me and my team has been incredible and tonight I'm going to be showering you with every bit of love I have because without you all, I wouldn't be living out my truth on stage representing my community the way you've allowed me to.”

And loyal we all were, including stars like TikTok sensation London Romano and Ms. Dianna Williams of DD4L dance group. In addition to showing support, Hall's LGBT dance crew showed out on stage by sharing their very own back stories during intermissions.

The former American Idol star gave us vocals and intimate moments during some of his hits like, "Attention", that ended in a runway model walk during his night in Nashville, TN.

Gaye Magazine staff writer Latesa Lins with Todrick Hall

Todrick gave us his all from head to toe, dripping in designer from one of his favorites, Marco Squad.

He took the stage in a green and gold cheerleader outfit with dollar bills shaped as his skirt, & the word “FAG” on his top. But the glam didn’t stop there! Marco Squad also came through with a Gucci brown nun dress. With the tabard, veil and head cap to match as he rapped "Both".

All night long, every dancer kept up with his dance moves, adding a touch of unique acrobatics and well-executed formations. Todrick ended the show by giving his fans, "Nails, Hair, Hips, Heels" where the crown went wild in techno color lights and vogue .

The Femuline Tour lineup consist of over 55 states and several countries such as Europe and Canada. The “Born To Be A Queen” superstar expressed he was thrilled to meet every single one of us .

Unfortunately, his last U.S. tour date was April 29th of this year but you can expect more of Todrick from his new album, "ALGORHYTHM". The release date is set on June 1st, 2022, which is the first day of pride month and Hall “couldn't be more proud”.

“This 80's inspired album is my best work yet, I couldn't be more proud. I have always struggled finding confidence in my voice and my last few albums have mostly been a collection of rapped club bangers, but being on the Masked Singer really gave me a new found confidence in my instrument. So I'm singing my heart out on this album WHILE giving you club anthems.”

Todrick Hall is celebrating Pride with the release of his new album, Femuline, released on June 8th. The album’s lead single, “Boys In The Ocean,” is an irresistible funk jam that rides along an infectious bassline and guitar licks, primed for summer escapism. Femuline follows Hall’s 2020 EP Quarantine Queen and exudes a new confidence and power, with plenty of dancefloor-ready tracks. Hall’s magnetic charisma shines through and his cheeky lyricism is an embodiment of his larger-than-life persona.   Hall says, “It has taken me years and years, even after coming out, to be this comfortable embracing my masculine and feminine sides. I'm so excited to give people permission to live as their fullest and truest selves with this music that I handcrafted specifically for the gay community. But I also feel that my music will resonate with people of all age groups and from all backgrounds."

Todrick Hall is celebrating Pride with the release of his new album, Femuline , out TODAY. His lead single " Boys In The Ocean " came out Friday, June 4th and today he unveiled a video for album track " Rainin' Fellas ," an homage to the Weather Girls' classic, "It's Raining Men." Watch HERE . Hall co-directed and creative directed the visual with Richy Jackson, best known for his work with Lady Gaga, at the helm as choreographer.

Femuline is bold and unapologetic, like it's creator. Hall exudes a new confidence and his magnetic charisma shines through on every track, not to mention his clever wordplay. The album was entirely written by Hall, with production from Grammy-winning Wiidope (Nicole Scherzinger, Ciara), and Jeeve (Bruno Mars, Britney Spears).

Additionally, Hall is joined by a fierce collection of collaborators, including the legendary Chaka Khan, Brandy, Nicole Scherzinger, Tyra Banks and TS Madison. The dance floor-ready collection is a defiant statement of self-empowerment and self-described as an "open love letter to the LGBTQ community," released in tandem and in honor of Pride.

Additionally, today Hall announced a global tour in 2022, with dates spanning the U.S., Europe and Australia. The North American leg will kick on March 12, 2022 in Seattle and wind through the U.S. until May 3, 2022, ending in Toronto, ON. For ticket information .

In further celebration of Pride, Hall partnered with makeup brand Morphe to create a limited-edition palette, Live With Love, with 100% of net proceeds to be donated the Trevor Project. The brightly colored collection features vivid hues with names such as "Stay Strong," "Spread Kindness," "Use Your Voice," "Sho Compassion" and "Be Heard."

Hall's unstoppable, self-sustained rise has taken him a long way from his roots in the tiny Texas town of Plainview. He quickly went from national fame on "American Idol" to international attention through "RuPaul's Drag Race" and ultimately commanded a huge global following on social media. He has starred in a selection of Broadway smashes including "Kinky Boots," "Chicago" and "Waitress" and was featured as the dance captain on the BBC's "Greatest Dancer." His profile continued to explode in the wake of his COVID-19 themed anthem " Mask, Gloves, Soap, Scrubs " which he followed with hosting duties for Global Pride 2020 for YouTube.

Billboard's cover story summarized his mass appeal: "He's part old-school theatre showman, part new-school internet personality, part drag queen... he's also pushing the boundaries of LGBTQ representation in a business that has historically been unwelcoming to queer people of color."

AND THE FUTURE PRIDE ANTHEM ‘QUEEN’

Todrick Hall has become an inspirational, larger-than-life character, simply by embracing everything he wants to be to become everything he can be. With over 800 million views at YouTube, he’s collaborated with Beyoncé, and starred in a selection of Broadway smashes. Billboard’s cover story summarised his huge appeal: “He’s part old-school theatre showman, part new-school internet personality, part drag queen… he’s also pushing the boundaries of LGBTQ representation in a business that has historically been unwelcoming to queer people of colour.”

Now Todrick Hall shares the biggest, boldest music project of his career with the release of his new album ‘Femuline’ out now via frtyfve. In celebration of the new album, Todrick has also just announced his ‘Femuline’ EU & UK tour for May 2022, which will see him perform two very special shows at the London Palladium on 25th & 26th May 2022.

‘Femuline’ is a huge step forward from Todrick’s 2020 EP ‘Quarantine Queen’. There’s a new confidence and power to his voice, while the songs are stronger, sassier and even more immediately striking. That’s not to say that Todrick has lost any of his magnetic charisma, irresistible lust for life or ballsy sense of humour: it bursts out of the speaker at every turn. And who else would dare to name a track ‘Dick This Big’?

The album’s lead single ‘Boys In The Ocean’ is arguably Todrick’s finest moment to date, with irresistible funk and disco infectiousness making for a prime pop highlight that celebrates summer escapism. Watch the official lyric video HERE.

Todrick adds, “"It has taken me years and years, even after coming out, to be this comfortable embracing my masculine and feminine sides. I'm so excited to give people permission to live as their fullest and truest selves with this music that I handcrafted specifically for the gay community. But I also feel that my music will resonate with people of all age groups and from all backgrounds.”

Another standout moment is the new focus track ‘Queen’, which has everything it takes to be a future Pride anthem. It’s a defiant statement of self-empowerment as Todrick declares, “I was born with glitter running through my veins, I don’t give a fuck what people say… I was born to be a queen.” And he’s never sounded so good, pounding through a modern day Hi-NRG pop classic like his life depends on it.

‘Femuline’ also features Todrick working with a host of famous names. His collaboration with the Queen of Funk, Chaka Khan, delivers more ‘Fabulosity’ than one track can contain, while Nicole Scherzinger features on ‘Show Off’ extending his perfectly poised pop proficiency. Teaming up with Brandy on the sparkling showcase ‘Click Clack’ sashays with throwback R&B style, Tyra Banks brings authentic fashionista vibes to ‘FASHÓN’, while TS Madison’s feature on ‘Dick This Big’ results in the kitschiest hip-hop showtune imaginable.

The album was written entirely by Todrick, with production from the Grammy-winning Wiidope (Nicole Scherzinger, Ciara) and Jeeve (Bruno Mars, Britney Spears).

Todrick’s unstoppable, self-sustained rise has taken him a long way from his roots in the tiny Texan town of Plainview. He quickly went from national fame on ‘American Idol’ to international attention through ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ to commanding a huge global following on social media. And that’s before you even factor in his Broadway runs in ‘Kinky Boots’, ‘Chicago’ and ‘Waitress’, or his role as dance captain on the BBC’s ‘Greatest Dancer’. His profile continued to explode in the wake of his COVID-19 themed anthem ‘Mask, Gloves, Soap, Scrubs’, which he followed by hosting Global Pride 2020 for YouTube.

Todrick Hall to Play Donkey in London Production of Shrek This Summer

Singer-songwriter, choreographer and famed YouTuber Todrick Hall joins the London cast of  Shrek,  running at the Eventim Apollo Theatre in Hammersmith for six weeks from July 19 through August 31. Hall takes on the role of Donkey in a production directed and choreographed by Nick Winston alongside co-director Sam Holmes.

On Broadway, Hall has appeared in  Kinky Boots ,  Waitress ,  Chicago ,  Memphis  and  The Color Purple . He was also a ninth-season contestant on  American Idol , a choreographer for  RuPaul’s Drag Race  and the subject of his own MTV reality television series. As previously announced , he will be playing Sean in the pre-West End production of  Burlesque the Musical,  beginning performances this June at Manchester Opera House. Hall will be lending original music to the production as well as performing in it.

The cast of Shrek will additionally feature Antony Lawrence (Shrek), Joanne Clifton (Princess Fiona), James Gillan (Lord Farquaad) and Cherece Richards (Dragon).
