REVIEW – Park Hyatt Kyoto

Overall there's no question that Park Hyatt Kyoto is a wonderful property. It is steeped in history, offers wonderful service, it has a rooftop bar, a Michelin starred restaurant and the hardware and finishes are some of the best I've ever seen in any hotel.

However, this hotel is not for everyone. I'm personally not convinced that being this centrally located in Higashiyama is actually particularly desirable or that the trade off in terms of the loss of room size and facilities is worth it. If you have any mobility issues or if you're travelling with children, the interior layout is also sure to become tedious very quickly.

REVIEW – Mandarin Oriental Santiago

This property originally began its life as a Grand Hyatt and in that context they’ve come a very long way indeed.

I can see why MO was interested in transforming this hotel. The views and the pool are truly unique; no hotel in Santiago compares in this regard. A great number of the rooms have been totally modernised, together with the lobby area.

Having said this, there are a lot of public spaces that are in need of a major renovation if this hotel is truly able to live up to the MO brand’s reputation on the global stage.

Golf Package in Turkey

Golf - Sirene Belek

The Luxury travel club organised our golf break for a large group. Dharam recommended lan all-inclusive hotel, the Sirene Belek hotel, which turned out to be really amazing & a great call. This is an excellent all inclusive hotel with branded drinks, great food & amazing staff. The golf courses Dharam chose, The Sultan & Pasha, were challenging & great to play and convenient from the hotel. I will definitely be returning to this hotel & have Dharam & his team organise my holiday. A team I trust with my holiday

Belek Golf Holliday

An amazing first golf trip arranged through the Luxury travel club team...beats the experience I have had of golf in Spain and Portugal hands down! Fabulous all inclusive 5* Sirene Belek hotel with great variety including for vegetarians: The golf experience was exceptional and convenient and just what I needed to get my UK season off to hopefully a good start. I'l be back as the Terminator would say.

The Luxury Travel Company is second to none! I now do not book holidays without their support. My main dealings have been with Didi. She is absolutely amazing in every way. Every holiday she has booked has been planned to precision. No question I ask or request goes unanswered - making me feel confident to travel anywhere! Last year, I travelled to three destinations in Italy in one trip. All accommodation was exactly as Didi said it would be - if anything it was better than I expected. My travel times and connections were all at good times meaning that the holiday ran like clockwork. This was my first completely solo trip with my then 11 year old … needless to say he loved it too and I think The Luxury Travel Company have helped him to see that the world is there to be enjoyed! I then followed this up with a 3.5 week holiday to Australia after my son requested he wanted to see White Haven Beach! Didi and Dharam (Didi’s colleague) planned the most amazing trip imaginable! This was no easy trip for them to plan, but they absolutely surpassed themselves - the trip was the most amazing experience. Again I travelled solo with a now 12 year old and honestly every moment of that adventure blew me away. The precision timings organised to get our transfers, connections, private transfers, boat trips, cruises and hotels organised was incredible. We started in Sydney, then went to Noosa, Brisbane, Tangalooma Island, Airle Beach (where we had three different accommodations in our time there), a sailing cruise around the Whitsundays and then back to Sydney. I honestly could not have done this without their help. My most recent trip, which I am currently on, is to the Maldives. Didi yet again rose to the challenge of finding us the dream holiday to match our budget … this trip, well all I can say is wow! This holiday has taken my breath away on a daily basis. Didi, and the Luxury Travel Company, have repeatedly made dreams come true. I feel so lucky to have found such an amazing company to support my love of travel. I honestly cannot recommend them enough, or thank them enough for all they do for me and my family. Corporate Tour - Kick Off 2024

We we planning to book Corporate tour for our 2024 Kick-Off. We contacts Urvi Jani, who in past have helped me to plan my personal holidays. She suggested 4 options for different destinations and help us to finalising the destination at H10 Palace Resort in Lanzarote. She managed entire booking process including - flights - local travel - resort package for all staff - arranging meeting rooms for the corporate event - evening events and dinners for 3 nights. Finolhu Maldives

Family celebration holiday booked to travel in April21. Cancelled due to lockdown. Full refund recieved within 3 weeks. Rebooked for Jan 22. Dharam managed to get the same rate with room upgrades. Quite simply the best holiday ever. Finolhu was everything we were told it would be. Casual 5* with a chilled vibe offering amazing dining. Didi at TLTC was amazing with our special requests and helped organise restaurants. We prebooked the spa treatments and recommend doing so. Others struggled when trying to book on resort. Will definitely go back to Finolhu.

Best Holiday Ever!

We had always booked holidays with the high street travel companies but wanted to do a bespoke family holiday so was recommended The Luxury Travel Club. She came back with recommendations for Double Tree Hilton in Ras Al Khaimah and then Raddison Blu Deira Creek. Urvi also gave suggestions for sights to see and things to do. Fantastic team

We used Vish and his colleague Devangi for the first time this year, to book our holiday to Mauritius! This was our first overseas trip since Covid, no pressure! They were very knowledgable and also prompt at coming back with queries. It couldn’t have been easier, to be honest especially when the two of us were working really long hours and just didn’t have the time to do any research. They were sensitive to our pricing point and not pushy at all, so altogether a great experience. I also found them personally responsive, to the point that the day before our flight we were unable to check in online and they immediately jumped onto it and contacted the airline who was experiencing technical difficulties. I must say I was impressed as to the lengths they went and how completely calm and reassuring they were! We certainly felt looked after! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vish and his team and look forward to booking with them again next year!

First Class Customer Service

Vish, Didi and Magda have been an incredible team for us. After booking a much needed holiday through them, Covid spiked and a personal Family situation meant I needed to change my booking. Not only were the team able to support my request, but they also managed to obtain a refund from the hotel (through their strong relationship - which they didn't need to do since Covid Policy hadn't prevented me from travelling) and gave me a credit note which was redeemable within 2 years. I couldn't have been more appreciative since I expected to lose at least some of my money as the decision to change was purely discretionary. Their attentive support and friendly demeanour meant so much to me during a very difficult time and I wasn't made to feel a nuisance at all. A year on, we were finally able to use the credit note to actually book and enjoy our holiday and every aspect of the experience has been seamless. Thank you Vishal and Team! Great work and we will be back!

Effortless and Thank You

I used this company to organise a really special trip for me and my family to Dubai and the Maldives. It was complicated as all the flight times and transfers needed to take into consideration by young children. But Didi was amazing and was always on hand to answer any question big or small. She was instrumental in contacting my resort (Finolhu) with any special requests and further enquiries I had. The process was seamless and effortless on my part and that’s what you want when booking a holiday of a lifetime. For me, Didi was amazing and I repeatedly will contact her for future travel requirements but the management of this company will always be on hand too, this was really important as I was travelling very soon after the pandemic, they were totally on it and understood the travel protocols.

With access to three dining rooms and a bar car, you needn’t worry about being confined to your suite—though once you’re ensconced, it’s remarkably easy to spend hours marveling over the details in the captivating space. Each Grand Suite is named for cities along the route—Istanbul, Venice, Budapest—and showcase beautifully inlaid panels, delicate marquetry work, Venetian-style lanterns, and myriad hidden compartments. Large picture windows next to the king-size bed and dining table provide views of towering mountains, rivers, and quaint villages as you sip Champagne and nibble on blini topped with Beluga caviar. Even the two closets are small wonders (no easy feat on a train), with lovely curved doors and enough room for shoes and three hangers, which is all you need for your eveningwear and a smart change of clothes or two. The ample marble shower boasts elegant brass fittings, and, somehow, there’s a surfeit of power outlets and USB chargers nestled within this paragon of old-world luxury. 

The first of this year’s Solaire Journeys rolled from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur via the Eastern & Oriental Express, while the year’s final voyage—from Cusco, Peru, to Arequipa and Machu Picchu—will take place in October aboard two Belmond trains: the Hiram Bingham and the Andean Explorer. In July, we traveled from Vienna to Reims on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express (a nod to the fact that Madame Clicquot’s first exported bottles were delivered to Venice) for an over-the-top exercise in hospitality that included a pre-trip stay at Vienna’s Hotel Imperial, a former palace that properly sets the stage for the pampering ahead. 

The opening-night dinner in the Lichtenstein Palace , followed by a carriage ride around the ancient city the next morning, conjures a level of royal treatment that carries over seamlessly as soon as you set foot on the train. Vintage Veuve Clicquot and La Grande Dame flow freely the entire trip, particularly during the multicourse lunch prepared by Imbert and chef Mory Sacko during a stop at the Champagne house’s limestone crayères in Reims, ending only when you finally pull into the station in Paris three days later. In between, there’s nighttime entertainment in the bar car featuring piano and burlesque dancers, in-suite breakfasts of caviar-topped omelet—served with more vintage Veuve, naturally—and, the closing surprise, a live DJ set paired with Champagne and sliders during the final 90 minutes of your adventure. Disembarking from such a lavish fantasy world was a difficult step down, indeed.

We have previously reviewed the club lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, Nomad , and now we detail the club lounge at the Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park. These two lounges feature as the top two lounges in our listing of the best club lounges in New York .

It’s worth mentioning that no one can access Ritz-Carlton club lounges for free. Not even top-tier Marriott Bonvoy members. Book a stay here with our luxury travel concierge , and you will get some lovely free perks like breakfast for 2, prioritized room upgrades, hotel credit, and your usual Marriott Bonvoy points, but to get free club lounge access, you will need to book the InterContinental Barclay with us. We can offer free club lounge access there, but at the Ritz-Carltion, you’ll need to pay for club lounge access even if you book with us and get our perks.

10 Best Hotel Executive Club Lounges In New York

Which are the best luxury hotels in New York with executive club lounges? Which hotels with club lounges are the most central and near Central Park, Times, Square, and Broadway? Some of the best choices include the InterContinental, Sheraton Times Square Hotel, and Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park. Ritz-Carlton New York Central Park has a brilliant location on the edge of Central Park. It has been a landmark in New York City since the 1930s. Rockefeller Center, the shops on Fifth and Madison Avenues, and Lincoln Center are all nearby. Restaurants, shops, subway stops and Central Park itself can all be found steps from this iconic hotel.

The lobby feels old school with modern touches, as the hotel was refurbished about five years ago. I particularly love the golden ceiling with sparkling chandeliers hanging from it. Rooms here are classy with a cappuccino palette, and the bathrooms are marble, but the rooms here aren’t very exciting, and the toiletries are big pots of gel that smell of nothing. Some rooms have odd, out-of-place items, such as lonely single chairs, so they don’t seem as well thought about as I would like for a hotel of this caliber. Rooms are differentiated by their views.

While I would pick the Ritz-Carlton Nomad for its rooms and views, the Ritz-Carlton Central Park has a superb club lounge on the second floor with daily and nightly food presentations. It has huge arched windows that look out over green (or brown in the fall) treetops and give the lounge a gloriously rural and green feel, which is quite different from the birdseye views from the club lounge at the Ritz-Carlton, Nomad.

You feel more grounded in the Ritz-Carlton Central Park club lounge, and the chocolate palette feels inviting so this is a peaceful and enjoyable place to spend time.

Beyond the club lounge, there’s a gym, bar, and restaurant, but no pool.

The food in this Ritz-Carlton club lounge is good. The food in the Ritz-Carlton club lounges is usually very good, as no one can access Ritz-Carlton club lounges for free. Everyone using this club lounge is paying for it.

You can enjoy five food presentations per day plus complimentary beer, wine, liqueur, and cocktails. Food includes delights like lobster rolls, salmon, NY pastrami sandwiches, filet mignon, salads, cold cuts, soups, and pots of dessert.

A highlight is the spirit-tasting event in this lounge, where you can try exclusive spirits mixed in cocktails.

The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park offers an indulgent setting with generous food offerings. This club lounge does include alcoholic drinks (hurrah!), including beer, wine, cocktails, and spirits.

It also has a fun location on the second floor with ever-changing views of iconic Central Park and lively 59th Street. Stick around on Friday evenings as there’s a sumptuous champagne and caviar presentation between 5 and 7 pm.
