Ricky Gervais has announced his new world tour and Netflix special: Mortality .

Official performance dates are set to be announced at a later stage, with the tour due to kick off later this year and run until the end of 2025.

As per the press release, the tour will see Gervais revisit all of his favourite arenas around the world, and it will also be filmed for Netflix.

On the theme of the new show, Gervais said: “We’re all gonna die. May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life. And death. Bring it on.”

Gervais has already performed 50 work-in-progress shows, which he is continuing through the summer in the lead up to the start of his new world tour.

The next batch of work-in-progress shows are now on sale. You can find the venues and dates below.

The comedian’s last Netflix special, Armageddon , was released on the streaming service on Christmas Day last year. In addition to winning a Golden Globe, the stand-up show also claimed the world record for the highest grossing comedy gig of all time.

Following it’s release on Netflix, Gervais joked that the streamer “couldn’t be arsed” to promote the special because they knew it would be “huge”.

“Netflix aren’t doing any posters because they can’t be arsed and I’m not doing any press interviews because they’re all c**ts,” Gervais wrote on social media at the time. “All I’ve got is you lot. Please watch #Armageddon on Netflix. Merry Christmas.”

Ricky Gervais has announced he's setting off an another world tour.

Yep, fresh off the back of record-breaking Armageddon , the comic isn't done with the controversy yet and is heading out on the road again.

He's already in the middle of a series of 'work in progress' shows, performing some of his new material over the next month.

And once he's fine tuned things, Gervais is gonna take it to some of the biggest arenas in the world, touring into next year.

So what will the new show be called? I hear you ask.

Usually, he uses the title to set the tone for the evening, with 'Animals', 'Politics', 'Science', 'Fame', 'Humanity', and 'Super Nature' all doing the job previously.

And today, the 63-year-old revealed the name of his new set, the decidedly cheery 'Mortality'.

So if you think his previous sets have been a tad dark, I reckon you can expect much more of the same.

Speaking to LADbible ahead of the tour, Gervais gave us a hint at what fans can expect from the show.

"We’re all gonna die," he said. "May as well have a laugh about it. Mortality looks at the absurdities of life. And death. Bring it on.”

If you fancy getting in early and checking out one of Gervais' warm-up gigs, then you're in luck, as tickets go on sale tomorrow morning (28 June) at 10am.

But if you're not able to make it to any of these or the tour itself, fear not, because just like his previous shows, a special is being filmed for Netflix.

Last year, a petition was set up demanding a joke about terminally ill children be removed from the Netflix special.

Responding to the upset at the time, Gervais told BBC Radio 5 Lives’ Nihal Arthanayake: "In the actual skit, I say ‘I’ve been doing a lot of video messages lately for terminally ill children. Only if they request it. I don’t burst into hospitals and say, ‘wake up baldy’.

"I’m literally saying in the joke that I don’t do that. But people have a reaction. They don’t analyse it. They feel something – that’s what offence is. It’s a feeling. That’s why ‘I’m offended’ is quite meaningless. What do you want me to change?"

And as for a message to those who set it up, the comedian added: "Good luck. That’s what I say to them. Good luck. I’ll even retweet it."

After 2 years of poorly-received hosts, comedian Nikki Glaser announced she will be hosting the 82nd Golden Globes ceremony.

The Golden Globes is not only a huge night for TV and film but also for comedy. It’s one of the few times that show business not only allows but encourages itself to be lovingly mocked (at least I hope so). (God I hope so.) It’s an exciting, yet challenging gig because it’s live, unpredictable and in front of Hollywood’s biggest stars (who also might be getting wasted while seated next to their recent exes)."

Ricky Gervais has lined up even more Mortality  work in progress shows for this autumn.

Having road tested new material every month so far this year, the award-winning comedian, actor and writer has now confirmed new gigs in Watford, Guildford, St Albans, Woking and London, where he'll perform five shows at the Leicester Square Theatre, between September 2 and October 8. Ricky Gervais brutally shuts down return to BBC as he issues savage rejection statement: 'It won't happen'

R icky Gervais, 63, has pulled no punches with his reaction to the reports the BBC was lining him up to star in the upcoming celebrity version of The Traitors.

The back-stabbing reality show has become one of the Beeb's biggest ratings successes in recent years and earlier this month, it was confirmed a celebrity version was in the works.

Following the announcement by the show's makers Studio Lambert at the Edinburgh TV Festival this month, rumours of who could star soon emerged - and sources allegedly claimed Gervais was high on the wish list.

A source told The Sun: "The BBC want the crème de la crème of stars for the celeb spin-off, and they ideally have to be incredibly smart, funny, and mischievous — and that’s Ricky in three words.

"Behind the scenes, big names have already expressed their interest in taking part from the moment it was revealed the new version of The Traitors was being made."

But after spotting the speculation online, Gervais - who shot to stardom on the BBC's The Office - took to X, formerly Twitter, to dampen any hopes he may appear, doing so in his typical comedic fashion.

Reposting an article by US publication Deadline which quoted the source's quotes, Gervais penned on X: "I love the show and I’m very flattered, but it won’t happen."

Explaining why, the comedian savagely penned: "I’m too busy and there’s no way they could afford me," followed by a sunglasses-wearing emoji.

Gervais wasn't done there either, as he shared a laughing emoji in response to one fan who remarked: "The BBC! They couldn’t afford the lawyers, never mind your fee!"

However, others were quick to react differently, with several urging Gervais to "reconsider".

One replied to the statement: "Please reconsider! You would be amazing to watch on that show. I know non of the cast would know what to do with you."

While a second poked fun at the news of the Oasis reunion tour as they penned: "If Liam and Noel can get back together surely you can do this!!" (sic)

At the time of writing, the BBC show is yet to announce which famous faces will be taking part in the celebrity version of The Traitors.

The celebrity version will consist of nine episodes, with Kalpna Patel-Knight, the BBC's head of entertainment, saying of the news: "The Traitors has well and truly established itself as an unmissable highlight of the year and the news of a fourth outing, alongside a brand new celebrity version coming to the BBC, will take the series to a whole new level.

Gervais has spent the last few months promoting his vodka brand, Dutch Barn, on social media but admitted he's "destroying" the company due to the expletive-ridden ads he makes .

He even claimed the company had made enough money for a billboard on the London Underground but was refused it by TfL .

Alongside a snap of the billboard in question with the tagline "one day you'll be underground for good", Gervais said: "Dutch Barn sold so well that we were able to afford a London Underground Billboard. However, it was not accepted for the following reason- 'We think there is a risk that this may be construed as implying that because life is short, one might as well drink, potentially to excess.'"

However, he's since clarified that a different advert has been given the go-ahead to be published, this time with the tagline: "Buying Dutch Barn will make a person rich and happy. And that person is Ricky Gervais."

The Office star, 62, whose new tour starts tomorrow, has previously admitted to always being a bit "chunky". However, he cut very trim figure as he walked in the sunshine this morning with his partner, Jane Fallon.

Sporting a black Adidas tracksuit and designer shades, the BAFTA winner appeared relaxed as he gears up for his string of sold-out gigs, which kick off in Watford. Ricky was also papped in the park in London in February, but looked noticeably slimmer in the pics taken today.

The After Life creator has spoken openly about his weight loss journey after successfully slimming down in 2016 before putting the weight back on four years later.

Talking on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon in 2020, Ricky argued back when the host remarked that he looked well. "I’m getting fat again!” he admitted, before explaining why he was struggling to keep the weight off. "I didn’t want to give up any food or drink, so I worked out,” said Ricky, who initially shaped up by starting to exercise. The actor continued: "Because I’m old and weak, I can’t work out enough to burn off the calories I take in at night."

In the hilarious clip, Jimmy can barely contain his laughter as The Office star starts complaining about how hard it is to diet as an older man, instead of talking about the series he'd been invited on to discuss.

The BAFTA winner added that he’d already noticed that he’d put on weight, saying: “I’m still eating and drinking too much but I can’t work out like Rocky, I’ve put about 10 pounds back on.”

In 2021, the star revealed he'd gained 5lbs since lockdown started as he showed off his torso in a hilarious shirtless photo. Taking a black and white photo of himself from an awkward angle, Ricky pulled a funny face as he wrote: "I've put on at least 5lbs during this latest lockdown. I can't workout enough because I'm lazy and I can't eat less because I'm greedy."

The candid snap went down a storm with fans, as one replied: " Big mood" while another gushed: "Brilliant post" followed by a string of laughing emojis.

Ricky is currently gearing up for his new tour, Ricky Gervais & Friends, which kicks off tomorrow in Watford. Many of the shows are already sold out, but there are still some available at Live Nation here. Resale tickets can also be picked up from the likes of Viagogo.

Sites such as Viagogo allow fans to buy resale tickets from other fans. However, it is important to note that many event promoters say tickets should not be resold after initial purchase and will not be valid for admittance to gigs.

Fans attending live events with tickets acquired through resale websites are advised to double check the ticket terms and conditions at the point of sale - such as Ticketmaster or Live Nation - to ensure a smooth live event experience.

Ricky Gervais, Courteney Cox on producers’ “wish list” for ‘Celebrity Traitors’ reality show

The U.K. version of the hit reality show The Traitors is spawning a celebrity variant, and the show’s producers say “big names” are scrambling to climb aboard, reports  The Sun .

The reality series is a murder mystery set in a Scottish castle. In the American import, which became a smash on Peacock, Alan Cumming acts as the gamesmaster for a group of players. Secretly among them are undercover nefarious traitors, picking the others off one by one. 

Claudia Winkleman is the host of the U.K. version and is said to be a “close friend” of Friends alumna Courteney Cox , who the producers hope to snag; another big name on their wish list is acclaimed comedian and The Office  creator  Ricky Gervais .

A source tells the publication, “Behind the scenes, big names have already expressed their interest in taking part from the moment it was revealed the new version of The Traitors was being made,” adding The BBC “wants the crème de la crème of stars for the celeb spin-off.”

The American version’s first season sprinkled former reality show contestants in with regular folk, while the second season was made up entirely of stars from shows like MTV’s The Challenge , Survivor  and the  Real Housewives franchise.

Ricky Gervais ' jab at Justin Timberlake concerning his recent DWI arrest has gone viral on social media.

The comedian's comment on the Grammy Award-winning singer received mixed reactions, with some people finding it funny and others saying they were made "too soon."

Timberlake's mugshot, showing his bloodshot eyes, also went viral on X following the singer's arrest.

According to reports, Justin Timberlake's scheduled dates in his ongoing world tour might be affected due to his shocking DWI arrest.

Justin Timberlake Was Arrested For A DWI

Timberlake was recently arrested in the Hamptons for allegedly driving under the influence.

Police stopped the music star when he ran a stop sign after leaving a party at the American Hotel. According to the Sag Harbor police department, Timberlake had trouble staying in the right lane with his car and was eventually stopped.

The statement read, "A traffic stop was initiated by a police officer from the Sag Harbor Police Department and upon investigation it was determined that Mr. Timberlake was operating his vehicle in an intoxicated condition."

Timberlake also reportedly refused to take a Breathalyzer test when stopped.

The arrest documents described the singer's eyes at the time of the stop as "bloodshot and glassy" and said he smelled of alcohol but insisted he only drank one martini. The same day as his arrest, Timberlake was photographed leaving the Sag Harbor Village Police Department after his release.

Ricky Gervais Commented On His Arrest On Social Media

After news of Timberlake's arrest broke on social media, British comedian Ricky Gervais decided to make a joke about the incident on X, formerly known as Twitter.

In his post, Gervais tagged the "Mirrors" singer and wrote, "Did you get the bottle of Dutch Barn Vodka I sent you the other day?"

The comedian seemingly used the jab at Timberlake to promote the drink from Dutch Barn Orchard Vodka, a company which he co-owns

Since the post went up, it's received over 2.2 million views and generated mixed views from fans of Gervais and Timberlake.

The Comedian's Joke Received Mixed Reactions

Some thought the post was hilarious with comments like "The best post on x today, hands down" and "Things like Gervais trolling Timberlake is what makes Twitter so great."

A third person noted, "You win the internet today Ricky," along with a laughing emoji.

Several others also commended Gervais for smartly promoting his drink.

However, some people thought the post was insensitive towards Timberlake and criticized Gervais for being a troll.

One fan commented that the jab was "too soon," and many others agreed with him. Another person wrote that the post teasing the singer was "ruthless" of Gervais.

Justin Timberlake's Glassy-eyed Mugshot Went Viral On X

After news of his arrest began circulating on social media, Timberlake's mugshot was released and soon went viral on X.

A post of the photo by PopCrave received thousands of comments, many mocking the singer for his bloodshot eyes that seemed "about to cry" and condemning him for driving while drunk.

One viral post featured a video of Timberlake dancing at one of his performances with the caption, "Sir, I'm going to need you to step out of the vehicle and walk in a straight line."

The post was to mock the singer for allegedly not being able to follow the instructions from the police because of his drunken state.

Following his arrest, Timberlake was released without bail from police custody and is scheduled for his first court appearance on July 26. However, the "Say Something" singer is meant to be in Poland on that day for a show in his ongoing world tour.

Justin Timberlake Is Currently On A World Tour For His New Album

The July 26 court appearance is likely to affect the scheduled tour show in Poland, but Timberlake's team has yet to make any announcements.

The "Cry Me A River" singer is also scheduled for two performances in Chicago this week before another two shows at Madison Square Garden in New York next week.

As part of the world tour, Timberlake already had performances scheduled for Boston, Baltimore, and Cleveland. The singer is about to begin the Europe leg of his tour, starting with a show in Krakow, Poland, and then performances in Birmingham, Manchester, and London this August.

The "The Forget Tomorrow" tour is for Timberlake's latest solo album, "Everything I Thought It Was," which he released in March this year. It's the singer's first solo album in six years, the previous being his 2018 album "Man of the Woods."

FANS of Ricky Gervais' hit show After Life are eagerly awaiting the third instalment of the black comedy-drama, which was confirmed earlier this year.

While much of the filming took place in Hemel Hempstead, lead character Tony lives in a modest semi-detached house in north London.

But away from the Netflix series, the 60-year-old actor and his partner Jane Fallon live in a luxury £10.8million London mansion - and have turned their massive back garden into a badminton court.

The renovation is the latest development on their property which boasts eight bedrooms, a pool and a summer house.

Bestselling author Jane unveiled their new badminton court on Instagram on Tuesday.

She revealed they used permanent line marking paint to create the DIY court - which comes complete with a net.

Jane wrote: "S**t just got real #badminton."

Even with the newly-installed court, there's plenty of room in the garden, which boasts a flagstone patio and perfectly manicured foliage.

The couple moved into their "ambassadorial" mansion back in 2015, after putting their Hampstead Heath pad up for sale.

The lavish digs boasts three bathrooms, four reception rooms and a summer house.

Jane often gives her followers glimpses into her home with Ricky, including their grand staircase, dark wood flooring and ornately-carved antique chairs.

She also has an office with a bright pink statement wall, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and a doll's house.

Tony hits rock bottom and contemplates suicide a number of times, but is saved by his beloved dog Brandy.

Afterlife premiered back in March 2019 and with the second season following shortly after in April 2020.

The actor said that the third series, previously confirmed as the show’s last outing, will debut on January 14.

Report: Ricky Gervais Turns Down Celebrity Traitors UK Hosting Gig

The BBC is planning a celebrity version of The Traitors UK . Number one at the top of their wish list to host the show is comedian Ricky Gervais .

On August 26, Gervais responded to the BBC’s post: “I love the show and I’m very flattered, but it won’t happen. I’m too busy and there’s no way they could afford me.”

Also, the wish list includes other high-profile names. One industry insider said, “The BBC want the crème de la crème of stars for the celeb spin-off … They ideally have to be incredibly smart, funny, and mischievous … That’s Ricky in three words … Big names have already expressed their interest in taking part from the moment it was revealed the new version of The Traitors [UK] was being made.”

Additionally, other names reportedly on the list include British TV presenter Jonathan Ross and Friends alum Courteney Cox. Ross is a friend of Gervais, while Cox is close to current UK host Claudia Winkleman.

The Traitors UK became a massive hit basically from the moment it debuted in 2022. Further, the show is an adaptation of the 2021 Dutch reality show De Verraders in 2021. The Dutch version was a huge hit and quickly franchised to the UK, the US (hosted by Alan Cumming ), Australia, and New Zealand. 

The show features a group of people gathered in an isolated location to compete for cash prizes. In every episode, players are eliminated, and at the end of the game, whoever is still standing gets to keep the money. The snag is that there are secret “traitors” whose task is to “murder” the other players before the game ends. If any traitors remain at the end of the completion, they win all the money.

The Traitors UK celebrity version should start filming sometime in early 2025.
